Developers have unveiled plans to build a twin-tower project in Sunny Isles Beach Florida. The St. Regis Resort Residences with luxury condos will have two towers rising 62 stories each, or 750 feet above ground. The south tower will have 194 condo units. A second north tower is planned to have 180 units. The city of Sunny Isles Beach approved the project to include a total of 490 dwelling units, with 260 in the south tower and 230 in the north tower. There will be a total of 1,000 parking spots. Construction is expected to begin in early 2023, with completion in 2026. Fortune International Group and Chateau Group are the developers. Arquitectonica is the architect of the two new towers. Interiors are by Anastassiadis.

Developers plan to build a 171-room, seven-story hotel complex across the street from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. When completed in 2024, the Hotel Celare will offer a 50/50 mix of queen and king hotel rooms with second-floor meeting and event space and 18,500 square feet of leasable ground and second-floor retail or restaurant space. The hotel will have a rooftop bar on the seventh floor and outdoor terraces overlooking Straight Street and Clifton Avenue. A 24/7 fitness center, flexible meeting facilities with outdoor space and a business center round out the hotel experience are also planned for the project set to begin construction later this year. The project is being built by Crawford Hoying in partnership with Shaner Hotels. Meyers+Associates is designing the project. Plato Ghinos is president of Shaner Hotels. The hotel project is the latest phase of a now estimated $500 million redevelopment of the area called the District of Clifton Heights by developer Trinitas Ventures.

Plans to build an AC Hotel on East River Street received initial approval from the Savannah Georgia Historic District Review Board. The hotel is planned for the former site of the Savannah Electric Power Company headquarters, which was demolished in 2015 by the hotel’s developer, North Point Hospitality. The hotelier opened the Homewood Suites on the previously undeveloped hillside next to the where the power headquarters once stood in 2016 and also owns property across River Street on the waterfront. The AC Hotel will be situated between the East River Street Ramp onto Bay Street and Homewood Suites. Plans call for a rooftop garden terrace and ground-floor restaurant. The hotel has already received construction permits.

The city of New Orleans Louisiana is considering plans for a hotel at the corner of Frenchmen and Decatur streets. Properties owners Frenchmen Decatur LLC wants to renovate the vacant three-story building at 502 Frenchmen St. into a 43-unit hotel. The Greek Revival building, built in the early 1800s, has historically operated with commercial uses on the ground floor and residential dwellings above it. The building has 23,600 square feet, and the proposed additions would bring the space to 30,900 square feet. The 4,330 penthouse addition on the fourth floor would add nine units. Suites on the second and third floor would be increased from 7 to 17 units. Mike Motwani is listed as one of the officers of Frenchmen Decatur LLC. Motwani owns many properties in the French Quarter. Land use attorney Mike Sherman, represents Frenchmen Decatur LLC. The project is still in its early stages and would need to receive final approval from the Historic District Landmarks Commission. Rozas Ward the architect for the project.

A Virgin Hotel is planned for Center City as part of a large development project in the works at Broad and Lombard streets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The lots at 500 South Broad St. includes the The District Health Center One, constructed in 1960, that was added to the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places in 2017. The block also includes the former World Communications Charter School, a large surface parking lot and the shuttered XO Lounge dance club. The development group selected for the project is led by The Goldenberg Group, The Badger Group and Harvey and Robert Spear, with design work from Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The mixed-use project includes residential, student housing, hospitality, restaurants and grocery.

Developers are planning a $100 million project in Clayton Missouri, a hotel and condominium development. Green Street Real Estate Ventures and its partner Midas Enterprises, plan to build a glass and steel tower on the corner of Forsyth Boulevard and South Central Avenue. Green Street and Midas plan to build 73 condominiums and 180 hotel rooms at 4 South Central Avenue in Clayton. A restaurant, rooftop bar, retail, 400-vehicle parking garage and 300-person event space also are planned. The developers own the property from 2 South Central Avenue to 22 South Central, and from 7814 Forsyth Boulevard to 7818 Forsyth they have under contract to buy. Phil Hulse is CEO of Green Street. David Robert is CEO of Midas.

A hotel planned for Midtown is heading for its final review at the Cleveland Ohio City Planning Commission. The project will renovate and convert the University Hotel & Suites at 3614 Euclid Ave., a hotel built in 1964, into the 189-room Delta Hotels by Marriott, a brand of 4-star hotels that are mainly located in North America. The 10-story building and its 95,000-square-foot parcel were valued at $1.7 million in 2021. The property was acquired in 2019 by 3614 Euclid Holding LLC for $3.2 million, according to county records. That company is registered to Crimson Rock Capital. Bill Walsh of Walsh Associates and Chris Kaczmar and Christine Raymond of Kaczmar Architects are the project designers.

Hotel developer Sina Hospitality is planning to build a Residence Inn by Marriott at 5249 Commonwealth Centre Parkway in Midlothian Virginia, directly across the street from Uptown Alley, a bowling alley and sports bar, and just off of state Route 288. The plan is to start construction by the end of this year with a goal of opening the hotel by the spring of 2024. Sina Hospitality, a Chesterfield County-based hotel company, operates 26 hotels in five states, including four properties in the Richmond region. The company has a Fairfield Inn and Suites near Richmond International Airport and a Fairfield Inn on Midlothian Turnpike, along with a Candlewood Suites in Colonial Heights and a Hampton Inn in Petersburg. The company is developing a SpringHill Suites in Chester, planned to open in June, and a TownePlace Suites on North Providence Road in Chesterfield and a SpringHill Suites near the airport. The newest hotel at Commonwealth Centre Parkway will have 100 rooms and is expected to employ about 20 to 25 people. Rooms at the hotel will rent for $130 to $159 a night. Ravi Patel is CEO of Sina Hospitality.

A multibillion-dollar funding package was unveiled this week for an arena and hotel project in Las Vegas Nevada. Active Capital Holdings is finding and co-developing the project along with original developer Jackie Robinson. The All Net Resort & Arena project call for an arena with a retractable roof, two luxury hotels, a convention center, a movie theater and on the long-vacant former Wet ’n’ Wild water park site, between Sahara Las Vegas and the under-construction Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Robinson, aims to resume construction in June or July and that his group has already spent about $40 million on the venture. The $4.6 billion project is being designed by Cunningham and HKS Architects.
