When Big Fish incorporated in 1989, it was a small shop representing artists in the Southeast. Today, Big Fish is an international framed art manufacturer distributing for artists from all over the world. At Big Fish, talented designers incorporate innovative framing techniques with a variety of images including hand-colored prints, limited editions, and posters, to create products that are not available from other sources. Hundreds of new trends setting designs are released semi-annually. Big Fish has journeyed abroad several times in the last year, successfully finding exclusive sources for new mats and moldings that are not available here in the States. Some of the most recent and most popular framing techniques are the addition of many hand-made frames, as well as gesso mats imported from England. These pieces create a look that is truly one-of-a-kind. According to Melissa Van Hise, owner and CEO, "We have a formula that really works. Big Fish customers agree that what also sets the company apart is their Quick Ship delivery system. Upon request, Quick Ship orders are delivered in three weeks or less for no extra charge. Big Fish also gives their customers the chance to order artwork with no delivery charges! The Free Freight Program is designed to give those of you who order more art a break. If you order $1500 or more, and pay your invoice within terms, you may deduct the freight charge from your payment. In June of 1999, Big Fish shifted gears again, and moved to a new location in Laurel, Maryland. We added lots of new offices (and personnel to match), and more than doubled our design and production areas.
