Developers plan to add a hotel onto the back of the historic Union Pacific building downtown in Salt Lake City Utah. The project is being planned by the Athens Group that will convert the building to a 225 guestroom hotel, planned to open in 2024. The eight story 94 foot tall building will include 4 food and beverage outlets, 9,600 square feet of meeting space and 13 specialty suites located with the historic train station. The hotel will be branded as a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel with the name Asher Adams.  The property is owned by Vestar Gateway LLC. Athens Hotel Development LLC is the developer. The architect is HKS Architects Inc. The civil engineer is Great Basin Engineering. The landscape architect is MGB+A The Grassli Group. The developers are currently securing financing for project construction.
