Developers are planning to redevelop two buildings in downtown Wichita, Kansas that would convert the vacant buildings into a Hotel Indigo. The 119 guest-room hotel project, is a $40 million investment in the renovation of the historic Petroleum Building at 221 S. Broadway and the McClellan Hotel Building, also known as the O’Rourke Title Building, at 229 E. William. Amenities would include: a full food and beverage program with a standalone restaurant and cocktail bar, fitness center, retail store, library area and meeting space, with existing indoor parking. Developers Schellenberg Development Co. and Crain Co. are the developers and Interior Image Group and Shelden Architecture are the designers. Conco Construction is the general contractor. Marv Schellenberg, is founder and president of Schellenberg Development Co. The project would be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2027.
