Hotel developers Brian Vega Alarcón of The Bravac Group are planning to build a 5-star hotel in McAllen, Texas. The $70 million mixed-use hotel and residential tower near the McAllen Convention Center, would include a luxury-tier hospitality concept and condominium-style living. The proposed tower would rise 13 stories, at an estimated 150 feet. The project would include: Two levels of subterranean parking and approximately 22,000 square feet of space, with final allocations for hotel, amenity and residential uses still being determined. A final hotel brand has not been selected but the company is in discussions with several major hospitality brands, including Westin, JW Marriott and Renaissance. The selection process will depend on market feasibility studies, brand standards and financing terms.
