Developers have proposed the construction of an 85-room Laurel Hotel, accompanied by two restaurants, on Main Street in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. The three-story hotel will feature meeting spaces, as well as two three-story parking decks. Watauga Properties LLC owns the property, and Jon McGinn serves as the architect for the Laurel Hotel. The project recently cleared its first hurdle, as the town’s planning board voted 6-2 to recommend approval contingent on multiple conditions.
