Artifact Real Estate Development Co. filed plans for a six-story extended-stay hotel with 19 guest rooms at 75 Essex St. and 230 Broome St., the site of New York City’s former Eastern Dispensary. The developer is seeking a special permit for transient hotel use to advance the 20,000-square-foot project. Artifact, founded by CEO Javier Martinez, has also filed plans for another hotel at 23–27 Allen St. near Chinatown.
