A new hotel development is being planned near Emory University Midtown Hospital and its Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. The two 12-story hotels are proposed for a site at West Peachtree Street and Baltimore Place in Downtown. The hotels would bring 400 new hotel guest rooms to the market. One building would flagged as a Hilton Motto, and the other would be flagged as a Marriott extended-stay brand, TownePlace Suites.  Horizon Hospitality Management Inc. is the projects’ developer and, BCA-Studios is the architect.

Developers are planning to build a mixed use hotel condo in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The proposed development, named The Stockman, would be built on a vacant lot at 1965 Ski Time Square Drive between the Torian Plum Condominiums and T Bar at Steamboat, and would include 204 multi-family condominiums, 41 hotel rooms and more than 24,000 square feet of commercial space.  The hotel is being proposed by Craig Cavileer with Majestic Realty Co., which is partnering with Alterra Mountain Co. on the project. The development would include multiple restaurants, bars and a day spa.

Parkes Development Group and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants plan to convert the historic Traction Building at Fifth and Walnut streets in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio into a 152 guest room Kimpton branded boutique hotel. The Kimpton Hotel will include three food and beverage venues, a rooftop bar, as well as a grand ballroom and meeting rooms. The building will be operated by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a brand of InterContinental Hotels Group. Parkes Development Group acquired the 15-story building for $3.3 million in 2018. The hotel will open in 2026 at a cost $90 million.

Omni Hotels & Resorts plans to build a 27-story, 550 guest room hotel on the parking lot at the southern end of Fayetteville Street across from the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina. The planned amenities include a new restaurants, bars and a rooftop pool. On the first level, plans include a nearly 9,000-square-foot lobby, a lobby bar, a 2,807-square-foot sports bar, a 2,751-square-foot specialty restaurant and a nearly 2,000-square-foot cafe. On the second level, the hotel will have a fitness room, social room, relaxation room and spa. On the third level, there is a junior ballroom that’s 9,508 square feet with an outdoor terrace, in addition to seven smaller meeting rooms and a separate board room. On the fourth level, the hotel’s main amenity is a grand ballroom that’s 19,525 square feet. In total, there will be 61,000 square feet of meeting and conference space. The fifth level features an outdoor pool, deck and fire pit, as well as a separate restaurant that’s adjacent to the pool. Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio and Waldrop + Nichols Studio for the hotel’s designer. The project cost is $300 million and will begin construction of early 2025 and be completed in late 2027.

Developer Bhavik Jariwala of Matrix Hotels is planning to build a $20 million TownePlace Suites Marriott near Exit 19 in Queensbury, New York. The company plans to build the 65,000-square-foot, 110 guest room TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 528 Aviation Road. The extended-stay hotel would be adjacent to another Matrix property, a 92-room Home2 Suites by Hilton that opened in 2018. The project will appear on the town’s planning board agenda in January or February of 2025.

The Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise recently opened its fifth Arizona casino in Glendale, called Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks at San Lucy, and is planning additional amenities including two hotels at both West Valley locations.     The hotels will include conference space, spas and additional restaurants and retail as part of the second phases for both of the Glendale casinos. These will include a 19-story hotel featuring 450 rooms with 30,000 square feet of conference space, a spa and pools, a rooftop restaurant and more at the first Desert Diamond Casino West Valley location in Glendale off the Loop 101. A second, 16-story hotel with 350 rooms is planned for the White Tanks casino and will also include similar amenities as the other hotel including 65,000 square feet of additional conference space. Verlon Jose, chairman is of the Tohono O’odham Nation. Mike Bean is the CEO. A joint venture between Hunt and Penta was the general contractor for the casino, which was designed by JCJ Architecture.
