As part of a continuing development in the downtown corridor, Skokie Illinois trustees approved a $50 million hotel and conference center to be begin construction this spring. E&M Strategic Developments is the group that plans to build a 141-room Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel and Conference Center on the former Sanford Brown College site at 4930 Oakton St. The hotel is just one component of a $400 million downtown redevelopment plan. The Hilton hotel will replace the Sanford Brown College office building, which has been vacant since 2014. The hotel and conference center meets the Illinois energy conversation code and will have the latest construction energy efficient systems throughout.
