Developer Baywood Hotels Inc. plans to build a 120-room AC Hotels by Marriott in East Memphis Tennessee. The two-acre, vacant parcel is located behind Plough Towers and between the Memphis Jewish Community Center and Poplar Place Townhomes. Nimesh Patel is SVP for the Mid-South region with Baywood. Baywood is a hotel management and development company with a portfolio that includes brands by Marriott, Hilton, and InterContinental Hotels Group. The company has more than 3,000 employees and regional offices in Memphis, Denver, Miami, San Antonio, Northern Virginia, and Rochester, New York. In addition to the AC project, Baywood plans a groundbreaking is next month on the 112-room, four-story Home2 Suites by Hilton at 139 Vance Ave in downtown Memphis.
