Conant brings a renewed focus on hospitality shaped by thoughtful stewardship, reimagined resort programming, and a deep connection to what makes Moab special

MOAB, Utah, January 16th, 2026 – Sorrel River Ranch welcomes Brennan Conant as General Manager. Both a working ranch and destination resort, Sorrel River Ranch sits on 240 private acres of Moab’s iconic red mesas and sculptural rock formations, along a winding stretch of the Colorado River. It blends the romance and rugged appeal of the American West with the personalized service and comfort of a world-class resort, where real, raw moments in nature and rustic luxury come together for a singular experience you can have only there. At Sorrel River Ranch, you’re fully immersed in Moab’s spirit: present, unplugged, and part of the landscape.

“Nothing in our marketing materials can ever prepare you for what it’s like to actually be here,” said Conant. “Watching the sun drop behind the horizon while you’re sitting on your cabin deck in front of a flickering fire pit, with red dust on your boots and a glass of wine in your hand. Having conversations that stretch late into the night under starry skies. The real luxury is being present enough to feel it all.”

Under Conant’s leadership, the ranch is deepening its commitment to what’s always made this place magical: the quiet awe that comes from watching the light pour over the valley, the thrill of a baby goat being born at dawn, and engaging with staff who act as conduits for the land’s millennia-old stories. This is hospitality rooted in stewardship—of the land, the livestock, the stories, and the people. As an engaged presence within Moab’s community, Sorrel River Ranch continues its charitable partnerships with local organizations, including SeekHaven, Canyonlands Field Institute, Moab Valley Multicultural Center, and Youth Garden Project.

Conant brings more than a decade of hospitality experience across full-service hotels and complex resort operations. He most recently served as Assistant General Manager at Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver, where he oversaw rooms division operations, financial performance, and team development. Known for his people-first leadership style, Conant has built high-performing teams through roles with White Lodging Services, Sage Hospitality, Towne Park, and Marriott.

While it’s conveniently situated just 30 minutes from Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, you won’t ever have to leave the ranch. The ranch invites active engagement with the land, making it one of the most enriching destinations in the West. This is an all-seasons property where you can horseback ride, practice yoga, mountain bike, paddle board, stargaze, snowshoe, or ride UTVs—without leaving the resort. Daily rituals ground you, like the simple joy of sipping freshly made cowboy coffee, a daily sunrise hike led by a team member to the top of a mountain where manifestation naturally occurs, and winding through the stone labyrinth at sunset.

“It’s an absolute honor to steward a place like this,” Conant added. “Every sunrise reminds me why we do this work. Every guest who shows up curious and leaves changed. Every member of our team who chooses to care for this land every single day. We’re the conduits to Moab’s story, and our job is to make sure every guest gets to write themselves into it–raise hell, kid.”

About Sorrel River Ranch
Sorrel River Ranch is a working ranch and destination resort set on 240 pristine acres along the Colorado River in Moab, Utah. Originally built in 1903 as a small homestead, it takes its name “Sorrel” from the earthy rust color of the surrounding red rock landscape. Situated between Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, the ranch offers 56 guest cabins that blend authentic Western character with modern comfort. Guests can horseback ride, mountain bike, hike, stargaze, and explore the property’s rugged terrain without ever leaving the resort. The full-service spa offers treatments inspired by the natural landscape, providing a place for restoration and renewal. As a true working ranch, Sorrel River Ranch is deeply committed to land stewardship and sustainability. Organically grown grasses feed the ranch’s livestock and barn animals, an on-site organic garden supplies fresh ingredients to The River Grill restaurant, water is purified from the Colorado River, and regenerative agricultural practices guide daily operations. Here, stewardship of the land creates a deeper connection—when you care for this place, it opens itself to you in return.
