Drury Development Corp and Drury Hotels, filed a building permit for foundation work for an eight-story, 252-room hotel at 900 Q St in downtown Lincoln Nebraska. The hotel would be a Drury Plaza Hotel, which is the company’s full-service hotel brand. It would have an indoor pool, fitness center, a restaurant and lounge, and meeting facilities. At eight floors and 252 rooms, the planned Drury hotel would be one of the largest in all of Lincoln.

Developer Southaven Hospitality LLC was granted a conditional use permit for an Element by Westin hotel in Southaven, Mississippi.  The site is located on the east side of Airways Boulevard, north of Nail Road. Southaven.  The Element by Westin is a Marriott International flag designed to accommodate longer stays and features a mix of traditional lodging plus communal rooms for group and work trips.  Its green design includes bathrooms with in-shower refillable dispensers and low-flow water features.  The communal rooms are called studio commons, where multiple bedrooms are connected to a shared living room and kitchen space. Other rooms include standard kings, queens, studios, and one-bedrooms. Southaven Hospitality did not specify a start date for construction on the five-story hotel.

A new Tempo by Hilton Hotel is planned on the Riverfront in the Village of Patchogue, New York.  The six-floor, 116 guest-room hotel would be located at 138 West Ave. the property that is currently home to the village’s shuttered bowling alley. The facility would include 16 apartments, large event spaces and a rooftop restaurant and bar with 3,000 square feet of outdoor seating. The project needs to be reviewed by Patchogue’s planning and zoning boards before going to the village board for approval. If approved, the project is poised to break ground by the fall of 2024. Allon Avgi of West Avenue Partners LLC is developing the project. JM2 Architecture is designing the project.

Plans to build a hotel next to San Jose California’s largest mall are moving forward. The development site at the corner of South Winchester Boulevard and Olin Avenue is across the street from Santana Row and a few blocks of Westfield Valley Fair and is next to One Santana West. The seven-story hotel would contain 176 guest rooms, and is at the corner of South Winchester Boulevard and Olin Avenue. Presently the site is occupied by a gasoline station and The Everest Momo restaurant. KT Urban, is the project developer. Construction is planned to begin late 2024 and take 21 months to be completed.

Developer Dream Team Hospitality LLC is planning a 100 guestroom Hyatt Studios hotel is planned to be built near the Louisville Kentucky Muhammad Ali International Airport. The lobbies in the Hyatt Studio will feature lounge seating, a complimentary breakfast bar and a 24-hour market, according to the company’s website. Its studio apartment-style rooms are 322 square feet and include a workspace. The hotel will employ 13 to 15 people.  Construction is expected to begin in spring 2025, with a planned opening in late 2026.

Developers are planning to build the tallest building in the United States that would include two hotels. Proposed by Matteson Capital, the Boardwalk at Bricktown Tower would be 1,907 feet tall and be the tallest skyscraper in the USA, and the fifth tallest in the world. The planned Boardwalk at Bricktown development includes three towers, each at 345 feet, and a fourth supertall tower, called the Legends Tower. Spanning 5 million square feet, the project is a mixed-use, including a 480-key Dream Hotel by Hyatt with 85 residential serviced condominiums in the Dream Tower; an additional 350-key Hyatt hotel with 100 serviced condominiums in the Legends Tower; 1,776 residential units ranging from market-rate to affordable workforce and luxury options; and a vibrant retail and restaurant scene with over 110,000 square feet of space designated for commercial use, food and beverage, and a workforce development center for the community at the street and second levels. The top floors of the supertall tower will consist of a public observatory, restaurant and bar where visitors will be able to enjoy the sweeping city views. AO is the project Architect. Scot Matteson, is CEO of Matteson Capital.

A new condominium hotel is being proposed at a gateway intersection in downtown State College, Pennsylvania. Plans include a nine story mixed-use building with commercial space and a condominium hotel at 321 W. Beaver Avenue. The project proposes a mixed-use building located at the intersection of South Atherton Street and West Beaver Avenue. The proposed building will have 4,760 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor and a condominium hotel with 72 units on the upper floors. The plans were submitted by PVE, and the owner Haugh Realty, Inc.

Developers are preparing to break ground on a new Margaritaville Resort at Galveston, Texas’ East Beach. The $700 million project is being developed by partners RREAF Holdings LLC and Innisfree Hotels which will be located on 95 acres at East Beach Drive. At 15 stories and 300,000 square feet, the 334 guestroom resort will include a 2.5-acre elevated deck overlooking the beach with a large pool, water slides and a 350-foot lazy river. Additional amenities include a ballroom, pickleball courts and a family entertainment center with arcade. Also included will be, 278 cottages on 15 beachfront acres to the east side of the resort and on 22 acres north of East Beach Drive. The fully furnished, for-sale Margaritaville Beach Cottages will have between two and six bedrooms and range from 780 to 4,500 square feet. The resort will have several restaurants, including a Margaritaville Restaurant in the hotel lobby and LandShark Bar & Grill next to the pool deck, both of which will be open to the general public. There will also be a Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Provisions, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar and Salty Rim Bar & Grill in the cottages area. Gensler as the project architect and Tellepsen is the general contractor. McBride Co. is the interior designer. Construction is to start this quarter, and be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Kip Sowden is CEO of RREAF and Carl Schwab is President.

Developer Baxter Hotel Group is planning a $73 million 263 guest room dual-brand Home2 Suites (130 keys) and Tru by Hilton Hotel (133 keys) in San Diego, California. The hotel’s amenities include sustainable designs to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, a ground-floor restaurant and a rooftop pool fully equipped with a restaurant and bar. Baxter plans to begin construction on the 16-story, dual-branded hotel this month and expects to complete construction in 22 months.

The Snoqualmie Tribe has started a $400 million multi-phase expansion project at its Snoqualmie Casino complex at 37500 S.E. North Bend Way in Snoqualmie, Washington. The expansion will add a 10-story hotel, destination spa, 2,000-seat entertainment and convention center, 11,000 square feet of additional gaming floor space, a new parking structure, 500-stall valet garage, and two or three new restaurant spaces to be housed in a new four-level podium building. The hotel will be located atop a portion of that structure. The expansion is located in back of the existing casino. Bergman Walls & Associates is the project architect. Skanska is the general contractor. Cary Kopczynski & Co. is the expansion project’s structural engineer. Macdonald-Miller, is providing mechanical and plumbing services; and Cumming Group is the project management and cost consulting firm. The hotel portion, which will have 210 guestrooms and suites with easy access to the existing casino gaming floor that has over 1,700 slot machines, 55 table games, and a 10-table poker room. The expansion is to be completed and open to the public in 2025.
