Construction has begun on a Holiday Inn Express Hotel at 221 Elliston Place in Nashville, Tennessee. The project is being developed by SiLa Developments whose CEO is Janak Patel. The property is being designed by Southeast Ventures, will offer 168 rooms on eight floors and is located across West End Avenue from Vanderbilt University in the general Midtown area.

Developers National Real Estate Development and Frontier Development & Hospitality Group plan to transform the former Family Court building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania into a boutique hotel and build a new location for the African American Museum on a neighboring surface parking lot along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The 247,196-square-foot former Family Court building at 1801 Vine St. is planned to include a restaurant, bar and event space in addition to the hotel. The new African American Museum in Philadelphia would be built on the 88,000-square-foot parking lot at 1901 Wood St. The team of developers are also drawing up plans for a 30-story apartment tower with 500 to 600 units on the 1901 Wood St. lot. Method Co., Smith & Roller and BKP Development Group are also collaborating on the project. The development is estimated to be completed in 2028.

Hotel developer Neway Hospitality plans to begin construction of a dual branded Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites Hotels located at 1319 Texas Ave in downtown Houston, Texas. Lender Arriba Capital has provided a $52.5 million construction loan for the project that will feature a total of 275 guestrooms with traditional and extended-stay options. Shared amenities will include an outdoor pool, meeting and event space, a full-service bar, fitness center, business center and a dining area for complimentary breakfast. Completion is planned for late 2025. MSC Design is the project architect.

Developers are proposing to build a new four-story, extended-stay, 112-room Hyatt House at 11100 White Rock Road in Rancho Cordova, California. The hotel proposes a variety of room types, and includes group dining areas, meetings rooms, an outdoor pool, sports court and landscaping enhancement. The project is being developed by InfiniPower Hospitality Group whose CEO is Devang Shah. The Hyatt House in Rancho Cordova would be on a bare 3.65-acre site on the southeast corner of Kilgore and White Rock roads, near several office buildings and a handful of other hotels. Plans show an L-shaped building with outdoor amenities such as a pool, sport court and dog run area. The hotel’s first-floor plans show a fitness center, meeting space and kitchen/serving area. HRGA is the project architect.

Developer Mortenson Company, plans to build a 256 guest room Motto by Hilton hotel at a downtown Nashville Tennessee property which currently houses a one-story structure. The Metro Development and Housing Agency design review committee has approved a modified plan for the hotel, located at 311 Third Ave S. In May 2023, the the committee approved most elements of a concept plan related to the hotel. Architecture firm ESA is designing the project. Mortenson has partnered with Pinnacle Construction on past Nashville development projects. The project is currently in its final planning phase and is projected to open in fall 2025.

Hotel Vision Hospitality Group has submitted plans for the 241 guest room hotel. The project would redevelop a collection of low-rise commercial buildings that sit a couple blocks west of the Decatur Square and the MARTA station in Metro Atlanta Georgia. The hotel would feature two Hilton flags under one roof: Homewood Suites by Hilton, an extended-stay brand, and Tempo by Hilton. The hotel project would come to the block bounded by Swanton Way, Commerce Drive and Ponce De Leon Place. The hotel would not have parking onsite. Instead, the development team is negotiating lease agreements with two nearby parking decks. BCA Studios, is the project architect.

After being severely damaged in Hurricane Ian the property owner and operators Continental Hospitality Group and Springboard Hospitality, are proposing to increase the 71-room from a two-building resort to a one-building complex with four floors and 140 rooms. The companies acquired the property two years ago for $27 million. Planner Patrick Vanasse, of The Neighborhood Co. is representing the owners in their redevelopment plans.
