A hotel developer is planning to build a Marriott branded TownePlace Suites Hotel at 101 N Providence Rd in Chesterfield, Virginia. The project is being proposed by Rivi Patel, CEO of Sina Hospitality. The 95 guest room, four-story TownePlace Suites hotel would be situated, just off Midothian Turnpike near the Powhite Parkway interchange. TownePlace Suites is a Marriott brand of extended-stay hotels. Sina hopes to start construction on the $15 million hotel in the second quarter of 2024. Harlan Construction is the project’s general contractor. Architect Edward Eiche is the designer of the hotel. The project’s engineering firm is The Site Design Co.

Developers are planning to build a SpringHill Suites Hotel in Grover Beach, California. The new hotel location is at 950 El Camino Real, adjacent to Oxford Suites, just east of the busy Five Cities Drive and North 4th Street intersection. The project has been in the works for many years, dating all the way back to 2007. Over the past several years, the hotel has undergone many different design concepts. The proposed 130 guestroom hotel is being built by Excel Hotel Group. Work on the Springhill Suites hotel is expected to take about 18 months and should be ready to open in early 2025.

Developer David S Brown Enterprises plans to break ground on an Element by Westin Hotel in the coming months. The 120 guestroom extended stay hotel will be located at the Metro Centre development in Owings Mills, Maryland. The five-story luxury hotel will be built as part of the second phase of the 45-acre, $1 billion Metro Centre in an area that today is a flat-surface parking lot near Painters Mill Road. The new hotel will sit across the interstate from the Marriott Owings Mills Metro Centre, which opened in late 2021. The Element hotel brand includes kitchenettes and spa-inspired bathrooms and is part of the 31-brand Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. It will be managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

Liberty Township Ohio has approved a mixed-use development for apartments and a hotel in the Cincinnati suburb. The proposed Liberty Center is a $350 million project near the Interstate 75 and state Route 129 corridors, received approval to develop 264 luxury apartments and a 145-room hotel at the site. The apartments would consist of 46 studios, 94 one-bedroom units, 111 two-bedroom units and 13 three-bedroom units. Amenities would include a dog park, clubhouse, private saltwater pool and a gym with a yoga room. The hotel would be a five-story structure, though amenities are to be determined. The project developer is Dobbins Group and Bayer Properties LLC, is the firm handling leasing, property management and marketing for Liberty Center.

A five story, 80 guest room extended stay hotel is planned at 321 Liberty St, Route 2, in Pawcatuck, Connecticut. The 40,000-square-foot building will share a driveway with Tractor Supply Co. at 331 Liberty Street, as well as a storm water retention pond at the back of the properties. The project is proposed by Mystic Sahajanand, LLC, whose principal, Mukesh Patel, also owns the 75-room La Quinta Inn & Suites at 349 Liberty St., which was constructed in 2009. Engineer Sergio Cherenzia, president of Cherenzia & Associates is the design engineer. Patel and his company will operate and manage the hotel as a franchise of Extended Stay America, which provides suites equipped with kitchens and on-site laundry facilities.

Developer Bill Ranguette and Cobblestone Hotels are planning to build a Cobblestone Hotel & Suites and Wissota Chophouse in Waunakee, Wisconsin to be located on the north side of Frank H Street off of Hwy. 19/113. The 36,944-square-foot building proposal is part of a larger plan encompassing 6.7 acres with 3 acres for an office and flex building next to SPL the hotel would be located on the remaining acres to the east of that with a joint driveway. Cobblestone is an upper midscale hotel with 169 properties in 29 states with 13 hotels now under construction. Anne Jakubek is vice president of development for Cobblestone.

Hotel developers RevPAR Companies and Emerge Hospitality Group, are planning a Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel for a site, with an address of 206 N. First Street, Nashville, Tennessee.  The East Bank site is located two blocks from Topgolf, adjacent to a former Goodwill Industries property and across the street from the warehouse home to craft beer business Barrique Brewing Co. The building to rise 11 stories and offer both a ground-level food and beverage component and a rooftop bar. Pete Patel is President of RevPAR Companies.

The developers of the Westin Greensboro North Carolina are finalizing design and construction plans so that work can begin on the hotel upon completion of the five-story parking deck. The 180 guestroom full service hotel at 203 S. Elm St. is planned to include a public restaurant, a rooftop bar and meeting and event spaces. Managers of the development group, Elm Street Hotel LLC, include executive Greg Dillon, Randall Kaplan, and Daniel Robinson, & George House. The six-story Westin Greensboro will have 180 upscale hotel rooms, a public restaurant, numerous meeting and event spaces, and a luxurious rooftop bar. The main lobby will be located off Elm Street.

Developer Jonathan Tibbett is planning a hotel and restaurant project in Southold, New York. The Southold Town Planning Board preliminarily approved the Enclaves Hotel and Restaurant project at 56655 Main Road on the North Fork. The developer plans to convert a 3,000-square-foot house with a 600-square-foot addition into a mixed-use property. It will have a 74-seat restaurant and a 44-key hotel, which will take up two floors. There will also be four detached cottages, an event space, an outdoor swimming pool and 132 parking spaces.

A new 100 guestroom Hotel is planned for downtown Sarasota Florida. The planned hotel is one block east of U.S. 41. Located at 1125, 1233 and 1243 Second St., it’s the site of the nearly century-old Palm Apartments building, built in 1925, and an office building next door, built in 1996. Both will be demolished. Developer M2RE Partners acquired a vacant lot in 2019. A schematic drawing of the building shows a total of 18 floors with a three-story parking structure above a street level lobby area. Above the parking are five floors of rooms, a sixth floor amenity space, and a smaller eight-story tower above that topped by a rooftop amenity space. Chris Gallagher of Hoyt Architects is the project designer.
