Developer Waveland Hospitality LLC is planning to build a dual branded Marriott hotel in Hancock County, Mississippi. The $16 million project will be located on a four-acre plot of land near the Old Spanish Trail and Highway 90 intersection and include a Fairfield and TownePlace Suites. Construction is set to begin in the Spring of 2024 and be completed in 24 months.

Developer Myers Group is planning a mixed use development called the Ovation in the Orlando, Florida area that would include an entertainment district, and multiple hotels. The 77 acre project would be located at the I-4 interchange with U.S. 192 in Kissimmee. The project would include three hotels with 675 guestrooms, two parking garages, 700,000 sf of dining, retail and entertainment. The tallest building would be a full service hotel with 350 guestrooms. The two other hotels would be select service with 150 and 175 guestrooms. The developer has filed plans with Osceola County for compliance review. RJ Whidden & Associates is designing the project’s master plan. Bill Shewalter is Vice President of Development with Meyers Group.

Developers Songy Highroads and Matthews Southwest are planning to develop a 400 guest room convention hotel in Savannah, Georgia. The group expects to start work on the project in the beginning of 2025. Over the next year, the team intends to design, engineer and price the project that is seeking public funding. The hotel would rise by the waterfront on Hutchison Island. Hilton Worldwide Holdings is in discussions to potentially flag the hotel.

A luxury 201 guest room boutique hotel in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida is poised to begin construction. The hotel is part of the Nora District being developed by BD Hotels, NDT Development, Place Projects, and Wheelock Street Capital with Moss Construction as the general contractor. The 5-story, 203,214-square-foot hotel will be located on North Railroad Avenue, anchoring 150,000 SF of highly curated commercial, restaurant, retail, office and wellness spaces that blend a walkable streetscape with a dynamic public realm. Amenities within the hotel include a rooftop pool deck complete with a restaurant, two bars, lounge area, and poolside cabanas. The ground level features a state-of-the-art spa and gym along with a warm and elegant living room, restaurant, lobby bar and outdoor garden. The hotel will break ground in the Summer of 2024 and be complete in the Spring of 2026.

Developers are planning a $2 billion mixed use development that will include a hotel, residential, retail, office, restaurants and entertainment in downtown Los Angeles, California. The redevelopment of a cold storage facility on the border of the arts district and skid row would be built on 7.6 acres at the intersection of 4th Street and Central Ave. The new development would include mid-rise and high-rise structures.  The development would consist of more than 2.3 million square feet of new construction, highlighted by 1,521 residential units – including 949 rental units, 572 for-sale homes, and 214 units of affordable housing. Other components of the project would include roughly 411,000 square feet of offices, approximately 45,000 square feet of retail space, nearly 56,000 square feet of restaurant space, and a 68-key hotel. Continuum Partners is the project developer. Studio Once Eleven is the master planner and building designer. The project team also includes: Adjaye Associates and Los Angeles Cold Storage Company. The project is currently going through the approval process.

Property developer OGC Cowtown Hotel, LP led by Oldham Goodwin is proposing to build a 149 guest room Hampton Inn and Suites at 2825 N Main St in Fort Worth, Texas.  The developer applied to rezone the land in order to move forward with the project and the city zoning commission is planning to hear the case. The project would revitalize Northwest 29th Street to the north, Ellis Avenue to the west, and Main Street to the east. John Ainsworth, P.E. with Kimley-Horn is the project engineer.

Developer Hart Family Hotels is building a new Holiday Inn Express and Suites in east Marion Iowa located at Highways 13 and 151 East Town Crossing mixed use development. East Town Crossing, which began development in 2017, contains more than 20 acres including retail, commercial, hospitality and residential projects. With the hotel’s construction due to be completed by the end of the year crews are framing the hotel’s fourth floor as much of the exterior is up. Crews soon will start on stone work outside, and part of the parking lot is poured. Plumbing and electrical work is taking place throughout the property, windows will be installed and the roof likely will be added. Once complete, the 93-unit hotel will offer a variety of room types with 55-inch TVs and amenities including a swimming pool, fitness room and breakfast. Cora Lahr is the Chief Operating Officer for Hart Family Hotels. Troy Hard is the owner. Hart manages 6 hotels in Iowa. Brave Hart Development is the developer of East Town Crossing.

A four story, 80 room hotel redevelopment project is being proposed in Lexington, Nebraska and will be considered by the planning commission. Lexington HIE, LLC, registered with Conner Works, is seeking tax increment financing (TIF) for the project. The property in question is located just north of the Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles, along Heartland Drive. Construction will take 16-18 months and is planned to start in the fall of 2024, with completion by the first quarter of 2026. The project will cost $13,500,000 and Lexington HIE is seeking $1,650,000 in TIF from the City of Lexington. Per the redevelopment plan, the project will create seven to ten full-time jobs and nine to 12 part time jobs.

Developers are planning to build an extended-stay Hilton hotel on an empty lot in downtown Oak Harbor, Washington. Sean Byrne and Donald Vale, owners of Efficiency Properties LLC, are planning to construct a 102-room Home2 Suites that will include a conference space, a swimming pool and other amenities. The rooms will have full kitchens and living spaces for longer stays. The property is between Pioneer Way and Bayshore Drive and next to Hal Ramaley Park. The project is in a pre-application phase.
