Developer H Group International managed by Horeshh Asah is planning to develop condo/hotel located at 401 N.E. Second Street in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Selo Hotel Condo would total 512,190 square feet, with 150 condos, 200 hotel rooms, 11,835 square feet of retail and restaurants, and 264 parking spaces. The lobby and pool deck would be on the seventh floor. The hotel rooms, which would be 300 square feet each, would be on floors eight through 17. The condos, which would range from 494 to 822 square feet, would be on floors 18 to 32. There would be a 2,785-square-foot bar with outdoor seating on the roof. The Selo Hotel Condo is being designed by SD Collaborative.

A proposed mixed-use complex anchored by a hotel and grocery store is planned to be built on St. Armands Circle, in Sarasota, Florida. The development team of John Meshad, Gavin Meshad and Dennis McGillicuddy appeared at the meeting to present their vision for a project on the Fillmore Drive parking lot adjacent to the Circle. The concept plan includes a 98-room hotel, a 15,000-square-foot Morton’s grocery store, six townhomes and 270 covered public parking spaces. The proposed structure would be 45 feet tall, 10 feet above the current maximum height allowed on St. Armands.

Plans for Gateway Village, a new riverfront resort in Bragg Creek in Calgary Alberta Canada that will occupy over 12 acres of land, have been approved. The project will be led by local developer Dick Koetsier of Gateway Developments, and it’s estimated that it will cost $100 million to build. Located less than 40 minutes west of downtown Calgary, Gateway Village will be a mix of commercial opportunities, hotel suites, and residential units. According to the proposal, there will be a 120 boutique hotel suites in the Wakesiah Lodge, which will also feature a conference center, a restaurant, health and wellness and spa facilities, and recreation activities. The architectural design of the lodge will encompass Rocky Mountain and rustic Bragg Creek styles, and guests can expect stunning mountain views from their hotel rooms and out on the hotel’s terraced patio. The project team includes: Infrastructure Development Group, Planning Plus, MTA Architecture & Interior Design Inc, Scope Project Inc, Jubiee Engineering Consultants Ltd, Bunt & Associates & Jana Sinclair.

A $14 million extended stay Holiday Inn Express & Suites is planned for Windsor, Connecticut. The hotel is proposed to be developed by Jignesh Patel and will be located at 777 Day Hill Road with a proposed 120 rooms with 88,000 square feet of floor area. The hotel is being designed by Base 4 Architects and Engineers. Construction will start later this year and take 14 months to complete.

Gun Lake Casino in Wayland Michigan plans a $300 million expansion. The expansion will include a 250 guestroom hotel, restaurant and spa. The casino also plans to create its own version of a year-round island oasis with a pool enclosed in a glass dome, hot tub, private cabanas and a nightlife entertainment space with live music, DJs and dancing. Gun Lake Casino is headed by Sal Semola, CEO. The casino is owned and operated by the Gun Lake Tribe. Gun Lake Casino is in the midst of a $100 million expansion, which will add two restaurants and space for an additional 450 slot machines, 12 new table games and a larger nonsmoking area. The hotel addition will begin when the current project is finished.

Developers are planning to build a boutique hotel across from FC Cincinnati Ohio’s TQL Stadium in the Over-the Rhine neighborhood. The planned hotel will cost $23 million and contain 90 guestrooms. The project would use an existing historical building at 1420 Central Parkway but demolish the buildings to the north and south and replace them with a new portion of the hotel. The property will have a soft affiliation with a brand to provide the support of a global reservation system but the brand has not been selected. Moment Developer is building the project with partner Downtown Property Management. Luminaut is the project architect.  HGC Construction is the general contractor.

Hotel developer Beechwood Pinnacle Hotels plans to renovation and convert a 109 year old Kansas City Missouri building into an AC Hotel by Marriott. Beachwood Pinnacle plans to invest $67.7 million in the renovation project at 906-910 Grand Blvd convert the building to a 240 guestrooms hotel. Built in 1912 the 13 story building was known as the Rialto Building and then the Ozark National Life building. Beechwood Pinnacle acquired the building in January 2020.

Kentucky Downs has plans to build a new hotel in Simpson County in Franklin, Kentucky. The Franklin City Commission approved a rezoning ordinance for property at Kentucky Downs, located at 5629 Nashville Road, where a hotel is proposed. The ordinance rezones 38.27 acres from B-2 (general business district) to B-5 (interstate interchange business district). Kentucky Downs opened in 1990 and is owned by Ron Whichell and Marc Falcone.

Developer Robert Finvard of SOBE 18 LLC is planning a boutique hotel at a vacant lot at 1790 Alton Road in the Sunset Habour neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida. The hotel would be branded as a Palomar Suites and contain 36 guestrooms and a roof top pool. The developer has also recently built the nearby Kimpton Palomar Hotel and Residence Inn Marriott. The hotel is being designed by GEK Architecture.
