Developer Claridge Homes, led by Bill Malhotra, has proposed a luxury hotel a block west of the ocean in Pompano Beach, Florida. The city’s Development Review Committee is reviewing the rezoning application for the 33,332-square-foot site at 101 S. Ocean Blvd. Claridge Homes 101 Hotel purchased the property for $4.5 million in March 2023. Under the proposal, the hotel would total 242,053 square feet in 18 stories, with 252 rooms, 7,329 square feet of ballroom/meeting space, a 2,334-square-foot fitness center, 4,810 square feet of restaurant/bar space, and a 236-space parking garage, which would use mechanical lifts to stack some vehicles. There would be a restaurant on the ground floor, while the pool, meeting rooms and bar all would be on the top floor. The rooms would range from 350 to 550 square feet. The developer has not finalized the hotel brand. The developer is working with attorney Andrew Shein and FSMY Architects in on the project.
