Developer Swire Properties is planning the Mandarin Oriental Hotel & Residences on the island of Brickell Key in Miami, Florida. Located at One Island Drive the project would consist of two towers. The first would be the 800-foot-high Residences at Mandarin Oriental. The 220 condo units would have two to four bedrooms, with the largest about 4,700 square feet. The building would be topped with a pair of penthouses, each more than 6,000 square feet. The second tower would replace the current Mandarin Oriental, hotel at 500 Brickell Key Drive. Swire developed that 326-room hotel in 2000. At about 400 feet high, the new hotel would feature 151 hotel rooms, 61 private residences and 28 condo-hotel units. The current Mandarin Oriental hotel would operate at least through 2024 before being demolished. The new Mandarin Oriental towers would be connected by a 100,000-square-foot amenity deck featuring pools, cabanas, work lounges, private dining rooms, restaurants, a spa and a health club. Kohn Pederson Fox Associates as the project’s architect and Tristan Auer is the interior designer for the condos building. Henry Bott is the President of Swire Properties.
