Oxbow Development Group is planned a new hotel at the Pearl. The 151 guest room hotel will be located at 1210 E. Elmira St. in San Antonio, Texas and take the place of a surface parking lot that now exists across the San Antonio River from the Hotel Emma and the Pearl’s popular restaurants, bars, shops and services. Oxbow expects to break ground on the project in early 2024 with construction to take at least two years. The eight-story hotel will be designed with a timeless aesthetic that honors the rich history of the Pearl Brewery. The hotel is being designed by architect Don McDonald. The renderings show a brick structure with arched porticos reminiscent of the Oxbow office building near the Pearl on Broadway Street. The hotel will feature 13,500 square feet of meeting space, a lobby bar and rooftop bar and grill, and a pool deck open to the public. Hotel guests will be able to access the Pearl by crossing the existing pedestrian bridge near the amphitheater. Bill Shown, is CEO of Oxbow Development Group. Oxbow is the developer arm of Silver Ventures, which developed the Pearl, and behind such projects as the Cellars and Southline apartments at the Pearl, the Oxbow and Credit Human buildings on Broadway Street and The Lab multi-use building at the Pearl. The developer is building a 256-unit apartment tower at Elmira and Quincy streets that will be called Cooper’s Row. The project will be completed by the end of 2024. The developer is also remaking the former Samuels Glass Co. plant and warehouse, which sits adjacent to the Pearl at 221 Newell Ave., into a fresh foods market with restaurants and office space.
