A site south of downtown Tacoma Washington is planned to be developed with a hotel. Plans recently filed with the city of Tacoma seek to build a hotel structure on the northwest corner of South 28th and South C streets. The plan is for a 114-room hotel on a vacant 1.5-acre site at 2801 S. C St. The building would be five stories and have two levels of underground parking. The 116,500-square-foot hotel would carry a Staybridge Suites flag. The brand is part of the InterContinental Hotel Group, which includes Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Kimpton and Even Hotels, all of which have a presence in the Seattle area. The property is owned by an entity associated with Sang and Keum Woo, who have owned hotels in the Olympia area. Construction will begin in September 2022.
