Developers plan to build a 171-room, seven-story hotel complex across the street from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. When completed in 2024, the Hotel Celare will offer a 50/50 mix of queen and king hotel rooms with second-floor meeting and event space and 18,500 square feet of leasable ground and second-floor retail or restaurant space. The hotel will have a rooftop bar on the seventh floor and outdoor terraces overlooking Straight Street and Clifton Avenue. A 24/7 fitness center, flexible meeting facilities with outdoor space and a business center round out the hotel experience are also planned for the project set to begin construction later this year. The project is being built by Crawford Hoying in partnership with Shaner Hotels. Meyers+Associates is designing the project. Plato Ghinos is president of Shaner Hotels. The hotel project is the latest phase of a now estimated $500 million redevelopment of the area called the District of Clifton Heights by developer Trinitas Ventures.
