Developer Barry Allen of Vol for Life Company is planning a new hotel with restaurant, retail and event center in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia. The $63 million project would replace the former Wheeling Coffee & Spice Co. and National Equipment Co. buildings at Wheeling’s waterfront. The hotel’s design is still being finalized with a restaurant and coffee shop being planned for the building’s first floor. Other floors will feature dedicated retail space, a 2,600-square-foot event center, 122 guest rooms and also eight condominiums, including an almost 3,000-square-foot condo overlooking the Ohio River. The building will also include rooftop bar and entertainment area. Work would begin in December of 2024 and be complete in April of 2026. Mill Group is the project Architect.

A developer plans to build a hotel just north of Miami International Airport in Miami Springs, Florida. The Pilot House Suites would be located on 1.13 acres of vacant land at 4849 N.W. 36th Street plus 673 La Villa Drive in addition to 640, 656 and 664 Minola Drive. The six-story, extended-stay hotel would be on Northwest 36th Street. It would total 69,685 square feet, with 132 rooms, a fitness center, a laundry room and coworking space. The rooms would range from 365 to 730 square feet. That would include eight two-bedroom suites, it would have a two-story parking garage with 121 spaces.  Marina Marino of HMX General Contractor is the project manager. The developer is Sucre LLC which is co-owned by Salvatore Natoli and Calogero Libertella. Modis Architects is the project designer.

Developers are proposing a large mixed-use project with a luxury hotel, condos, restaurant, and retail in Downtown, Memphis Tennessee. Proposed by Forum Hotel and Hospitality Development Corp led by Principal William McCrary Jr . the new build mixed-use project would be on the southeast corner of Fourth Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, catty-corner from FedExForum and directly across the street from Robert Church Park. The plan includes a 191 guestroom luxury Blues Note Hotel with a guitar-shaped rooftop pool. The four-star hotel, it would stand 15 stories high. The development proposal also calls for a nine-story condo complex, with 65 units in total, and a three-floor parking garage. A second-phase boutique hotel is also proposed on the same development site, next to the larger hotel and condo building. The project team includes architecture firm A2H, Meticulous and Javier Bailey Sr. with Bailey Co. Real Estate Services Corp.

Developer Turnberry is planning to build a St. Regis Hotel in downtown, Nashville, Tennessee. The firm has submitted plans to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency which would be one of Nashville’s tallest buildings. The St. Regis Hotel, would be located next to the JW Marriott at 805 Demonbreun St., at 46 stories tall with 173 hotel guest rooms, 73 furnished residences and 100 condo units. The project includes three levels of underground parking, food and beverage concepts, a full-service spa, multiple event spaces and various amenities for hotel guests and residents. Morris Adjmi Architects is designing the project which is expected to break ground in 2025.

Developer MCR is proposing to build two new hotels next to its Hilton Airport Blue Lagoon Miami, Florida Hotel.  MCR, filed a pre-application with Miami-Dade County to build on the 20.6-acre property at 5101 Blue Lagoon Drive. It currently has a 14-story, 508-room hotel that was developed on the waterfront site in 1983. MCR would build two additional hotels, each with 200 rooms in eight stories. To make up for the removal of surface parking, it would construct a five-story, 700-space garage for the existing Hilton, plus two four-story, 140-space garages to serve the new hotels. The new hotels would be select service and contain no restaurant or meeting room space.  Attorney David J. Coviello, is representing MCR in the application. Behar Font Partners is designing the project.

Aptitude Development is planning to build a new long term stay hotel in State College, Pennsylvania near the State College Regional Airport. The four-story, 96-room hotel would be located along Fox Hill Road, just west of the Bernel Road intersection and about a mile and a half from the airport. The hotel is part of phase 2 of the 60-acre Nittany Valley Sports Centre Master Plan approved by the township in 2016. Phase 1 included the Centre itself, as well as the Kingston Village townhomes. Plans include 112 parking spaces at the rear of the hotel and a porte-cochère drop-off area at the front. Construction also would include an internal private road system with connections to an existing right-in, right-out entrance on Fox Hill Road and a full-access entrance on Bernel Road. Phase 2 also shows pads for restaurant, office and warehouse uses. Mark Toretti of Penn Terra is the project engineer.

Developer NewcrestImage led by CEO Mehul Patel is planning a $100 million renovation project that would convert Fourth & Walnut Centre, a three-building office complex in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio to a mixed-use hotel. The company plans was to have a dual-branded hotel, to include a Canopy by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn. The project would also include a grocery store, fitness center and a few floors of office space, and a potential parking garage.

Developer La Corsha Hospitality Group has begun construction on a boutique hotel at a 5.5-acre property in Austin, Texas.  The project is a three-story, 63 guest room hotel and event space at the Green Pastures property, restaurant and event center. The hotel will be 44,282 square feet with a 16,475-square-foot underground parking garage. Construction is expected to be complete in the summer of 2025. La Corsha is also planning a future phase, which would include a spa and more hotel rooms constructed on the western edge of the property. Architecture firm Clayton Korte is designing the project. Jeff Trigger, is president of La Corsha Hospitality Group.
