Construction of a new hotel in Napa, California’s Oxbow district has been approved by the City Council. The Oxbow Gateway Hotel is proposed to include two four-story, 60-foot buildings near Soscol Avenue and First Street. Developer Stratus Development Partners, which took over the project from the original developer, requested to increase the number of previously approved rooms from 74 to 123, among other changes. Construction is set to begin in late 2024.

Developer Summa Development Group plans to build a 33-story skyscraper with a JW Marriott-branded hotel on a 1.5-acre site located at 319 E Church St in downtown Orlando, Florida. The new tower is expected to have 228 hotel guestrooms, 129 condos, two restaurants, a conference center and an integrated parking garage. The project is being designed by DLR Group. Albert Socol is principal of Summa Development Group.

Developer Hallmark Hospitality and project designer Zeidler Architecture have unveiled plans for a boutique hotel at: 901 West Broadway in Vancouver, British Columbia. Situated at the intersection of West B’dway and Laurel St., the 12-storey tower will feature 151 guestrooms and a three-level parking garage. The hotel’s standout design feature is a gradated facade merging with a brick-laced podium, echoing Broadway’s historic architecture. Large offset panels create a shimmering effect, accentuated by a brushed metal panel system. Each side of the facade maximizes views and light exposure. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows offer guests expansive city views. James Brown is project designer with Zeidler Architecture.

Developers Jas Bhogal and Thomas Calus are proposing to redevelop the Alexandria Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. The proposal is to retain and restore the hotel’s facade, demolish the deteriorated building behind that facade, and build a new 12-story, 150 room hotel in its place. CBT is the project’s primary architect. Located at the intersection of Washington Street and Massachusetts Avenue, the 150-year-old building has stood vacant for decades, having long ago suffered significant fire and water damage.

Cobblestone Hotels plans to construct a four-story, 62 guest room hotel in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Cobblestone is proposing to build the hotel on the West Waterfront along East Maple Street in Tax Increment District. The project is estimated to cost $11,166,000. Anna Jakubek, is vice president of development for Cobblestone Hotels.

A new hotel is set to begin construction in the Summer of 2024 in downtown Rockford, Michigan. The new Hotel Rose at boutique hotel at 10 and 12 S Main Street between Maple and Bridge will include two restaurants, two retail spaces and 54 guest rooms. Designed by project architect Ghafari Associates LLC. The $14 million project shows the exterior of the approximately 38,000-square-foot building that is proposed on two parcels. Wheeler Development Group is proposing the project.

Developer Atwater and Second Associates, LLC which includes Sterling Group as the principal is proposing new 25 story 600 guestroom hotel in downtown Detroit, Michigan along the river at Water Square. The project consists of five podium floors, a ground floor restaurant, a lobby bar, two ballrooms, 50,000 sq ft of meeting rooms, swimming pool, spa and fitness area. The back-of-house areas will include offices, staff support spaces, and a large kitchen. A pedestrian bridge will span over the future 2nd Avenue and provide a direct connection to Huntington Place Convention Center. The Developer is seeking governmental approvals and to commence construction of the new hotel in the second quarter of 2024.

Developer Maguire Holding Group LLC, headed by Ruben Larrea, is planning to build a 117 guest room Cambria hotel at 924 Maguire Road, West Orange County in Ocoee, Florida.    A large-scale preliminary site plan for the project was approved by the Ocoee City Commission.  The Cambria Suites at Ocoee project would be six stories in height and have a 1,500-square-foot restaurant on the sixth floor. A site plan also reflects a pool, a rain garden area and 108 parking spaces.  The project would be built on a 2.6-acre property less than a quarter-mile north of West Colonial Drive. State Road 50’s commercial corridor. The site is directly behind the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Orlando Ocoee hotel and is across Bluford Avenue from the $1 billion-plus City Center West Orange development.  The project team includes: engineering firm Mitch Collins PE Inc., architect Construction & Design Group, surveyor Accuright Surveys Inc. and landscape architect Magley Design.
