Hotel developer Steinhauer Properties are planning to build a Hard Rock Hotel in Long Beach, California. Construction if would start in the Summer of 2024 and be complete in the 2nd quarter of 2027. Located halfway between Los Angeles and Newport Beach, the new Hard Rock Hotel Long Beach would rise 31 stories. The property will feature 427 guest rooms and suites, including a Rock Star Suite, along with what an open rooftop bar on the Southern California Coast featuring 360-degree views. Amenities including an outdoor swimming pool with an amenities deck offering sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, a Body Rock® Fitness Studio, two on-site restaurant options, and a Rock Shop®, featuring Hard Rock’s world-famous merchandise and other unique items. The new property will also feature a unique speakeasy with an intimate concert hall offering seating for approximately 250 patrons. Greg Steinhauer is the President of Steinhauer Properties.

Hotel developers RevPAR Companies and Emerge Hospitality Group, are planning a Residence Inn by Marriott for a site, with the address of 206 N. First St. in the East Bank neighborhood in Nashville Tennessee. Via PBS EB Nashville LLC, the two affiliated entities recently paid $4.2 million for the 0.82-acre property. The hotel will rise 11 stories and offer both a ground-level food and beverage component and a rooftop bar. Pete Patel, is RevPAR president and CEO.

Developers are planning a new hotel at 4580 Duckhorn Drive in Sacramento, California. The four-story, 132 guestrooms Home2 Suites branded hotel would be located on empty land visible from Interstate 5. Rooms would consist of 89 king studios, four king with one bedroom, 32 queen rooms, one accessible king studio, two accessible queen rooms and four accessible king rooms with one bedroom. Sizes range from 587 to 344 square feet. The hotel would be a fitness center, outdoor pool and small market, a small kitchen and food prep area. The lobby includes a seating area for meals. There would be 129 parking stalls, including 51 either with electric vehicle charging capability or capable of adding chargers. The property is owned by Vasilj of Roseville. HRGA Architects in designing the project. If would total 70,000 square feet with its primary entrance facing south, towards Duckhorn.

Developers have won approval for the new construction of the Silver Beach Condo Hotel in Daytona Beach, Florida. Proposed by Daytona Atlantic Development the 25 story project still needs approval by the city commission. The commission is scheduled to consider the project Dec. 6 and 20, 2023. Developer Hines and partner the Tampa Bay Rays are planning to redevelop 86 acres in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. The project would include: 4,800 market-rate residential units, 1,200 affordable/workforce housing units (600 on-site/600 off-site), 600 market-rate senior living units, 750 hotel keys, 1.4 million square feet of Class A/Medical/Medical Office, 750,000 square feet of retail space, 100,000 square feet of entertainment space, 50,000 square feet of civic uses, 90,000 square feet of conference, ballroom and meeting space, 14 acres of open space. The proposal is still being finalized, and city council is expected to vote on the development agreement in March 2024.

In Houston, Texas, the Astros baseball team are planning to build a hotel and entertainment center adjacent to Minute Maid Park. The project will include a 17-story, 300-key hotel with approximately 60,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space. The team plans to break ground on the project by the end of 2024. The mixed-use project will be located on Texas Avenue directly adjacent to the Astros’ ballpark. The organization doesn’t have a brand for the hotel yet and is still in the process of finding restaurant and retail tenants. The Astros are working with Hines for development of the venue and HKS Architects for the master plan. The organization is in the process of selecting an architecture firm for the project, which is currently in the design development phase.

Developers plan to build a WoodSpring Suites hotel at 2050 Watchorn St. in Durham, North Carolina. Site plans have been filed for the extended stay hotel on a vacant lot at the corner of Ellis Street just east of Interstate 885. The property is part of a larger mixed-use development called Marketplace at Ellis Crossing. The Publix-anchored shopping center is owned by developer Thompson Thrift. The firm is working with Raleigh-based hotelier Concord Hospitality on the project. A new site plan filing was submitted to the city at the end of September, showing 124 hotel rooms in a building totaling 53,711 square feet. The WoodSpring Suites brand offers extended-stays and is owned by Choice Hotels. The brand has over 200 locations across the country.

Developer Claridge Homes, led by Bill Malhotra, has proposed a luxury hotel a block west of the ocean in Pompano Beach, Florida. The city’s Development Review Committee is reviewing the rezoning application for the 33,332-square-foot site at 101 S. Ocean Blvd. Claridge Homes 101 Hotel purchased the property for $4.5 million in March 2023. Under the proposal, the hotel would total 242,053 square feet in 18 stories, with 252 rooms, 7,329 square feet of ballroom/meeting space, a 2,334-square-foot fitness center, 4,810 square feet of restaurant/bar space, and a 236-space parking garage, which would use mechanical lifts to stack some vehicles. There would be a restaurant on the ground floor, while the pool, meeting rooms and bar all would be on the top floor. The rooms would range from 350 to 550 square feet. The developer has not finalized the hotel brand. The developer is working with attorney Andrew Shein and FSMY Architects in on the project.

Commercial real estate development company Kerioth Corporation is proposing to build a bayfront six-story, 132-room Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel at 801 E. Gregory Street in Pensacola, Florida. The developers applied to build 21 parking spaces in public right-of-way on 13th Avenue and DeLeon Street for the exclusive use of the hotel under a city license to use (LTU) agreement. Kerioth Corporation will spend about $250,000 to upgrade the few existing parking spaces and build new ones on top of the more than $30 million it will invest in the hotel. The hotel developers must still win approval on the aesthetic design of the hotel from the Planning Board before the project moves forward.

Hotel chain Riu Hotels plans to build its third New York City hotel at the site of a vacant office building along Broadway. The property, located at 1708–1710 Broadway, was acquired for $172.8 million by Riu Hotels affiliate Broadway PT 1710 LLC. The 52,000-square-foot office building would be demolished to make way for the new tower. Riu Hotels purchased the property from Extell Development who planned to build a 54-story hotel at the site.   Riu is seeking approval from the city to build a 50-story hotel with more than 670 rooms. Reto Stoeckenius is the director of the expansion team at Riu Hotels.
