Developer Shree Kulkarni of Kulkarni Properties is planning to build a new extended stay hotel at the Cincinnati Innovation District in Walnut Hills, Ohio. The project is a five-story, extended-stay hotel with around 100 rooms and a surface lot with around 100 parking spaces. The project site is 1.95 acres of vacant land at the northeast corner of Stanton Avenue and Beecher Street. The site also borders Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to the north. Construction is expected to start in the middle of next year and will take around 18 months to complete.

A new Hilton branded hotel is being planned for Central Florida. The LivSmart Studios brand would be built in the Horizon West area of Orlando proposed by Kelly, Collins & Gentry Inc and Boyd Development Corp. The proposal is for a four-story, 124 guest room LivSmart Studios by Hilton hotel for a 7.1-acre lot near the intersection of New Independence Parkway and Hamlin Groves Trail in Horizon West’s Hamlin Town Center development. LivSmart offers apartment-style hotels, designed to accommodate guest stays of 20 nights or more.

Alakai Development is planning to build a new $135 million 240 guestroom dual branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Hotel in West Oahu, Hawaii. The dual-branded hotel will be located on 3.49 acres at 91-3456 Nana Hope St. in Ewa Beach, within the Hoopili master-planned community. The property will include 108 Hyatt Place guest rooms and 132 Hyatt House extended-stay guest rooms, 19 of which include balconies and 86 that have kitchenettes, the announcement noted. The five-story building also will include an outdoor swimming pool and spa, 3,009 square feet of meeting space, a dining room, a business center and a fitness center.

DiGeronimo Development the company behind the Valor Acres development, a mixed use residential, retail and industrial development at the corner of Brecksville and Miller Roads in Brecksville, Ohio has signed an agreement with Marriott International to build an AC Marriott hotel as part of the Valor Acres project. The six-floor, 136 guestroom hotel will include a rooftop bar and fitness center. Construction will begin in early 2025. Project partners include Crawford Hoying and Shaner Hotel Group.

Developer Sing Ming Chan is proposing to build a 25-story 106 guestroom in Boston, Massachusetts’ Chinatown neighborhood. The hotel at 15-25 Harrison Ave.is a parcel of less than a tenth of an acre that is currently home to a vacant, dilapidated five-story building. The Chinatown hotel would feature just under 80,000 square feet of space. Group One is the project designer.

Developers are planning to build a 9 story, 159 guest room AC Marriott Hotel that will include a lobby bar and a rooftop restaurant called The Bristol in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. The hotel is part of the Parkside mixed use project planned by the Carroll Cos. The project will also include 337 upscale apartments, 16,000 square feet of retail space and a 4,500-square foot event space that will be able to seat 200 to 300 people. Madison Carroll Snyder is the director of hotel operations for Carroll Cos.
