The Westland Michigan planning commission approved a plan by developer John Hambrick to split the 16-acre Eloise historic property and convert a portion of it to a hotel and event space. The Eloise complex is located at 30712 Michigan Ave in Westland Michigan. A key feature on the redeveloped property would include a hotel and event space, with a 1930s-themed restaurant and bar in the basement. The power plant and bakery buildings on will be demolished, and the firehouse will become a public space. The facility was last operated as the Wayne County General Hospital, and halted operations in 1984.
