Developer Weyland Ventures acquired the former Hardin County Courthouse in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, with plans to transform it into a boutique hotel. The firm launched the Common Bond Hotel Collection, a hospitality group to deliver a series of boutique hotels throughout Kentucky. The exterior and footprint of the building will remain the same and the interior will be renovated to include 24 guestrooms in the hotel. Like all the hotels in the collection, the Hardin County hotel will feature a food and beverage concept. The top floor of the three-story building will house the eatery, including craft cocktails and small plates. The hotel will also offer valet and other parking options. The Common Bond Hotel Collection will include seven hotels over the next three years. Including boutique hotels in Bardstown, Frankfort, Louisville and Paducah, Kentucky. The first project under the Common Bond banner will be the Bardstown Motor Lodge and Toogie’s Table, a reimagined design of the former Bardstown Parkview Motel and Kurtz Family Restaurant in Bardstown, Kentucky. Mariah Gratz is CEO of Weyland Ventures. Craig Pishotti is co-founder of Collon Bond Hotel Collection. Michael Wajda, former executive chef at Lodgic Everyday Kitchen in NuLu, is working with Weyland Ventures LLC on the culinary aspects of each hotel.
