Developer Prakash Patel of Lotus Management Inc. is planning to build a new Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Santa Maria California. Located near North Broadway and Highway 101 the 93 guest room hotel would be housed in a 56,000-square-foot four-story structure on two vacant parcels totaling 2.13 acres at the northern end of the Roemer Court cul-de-sac. The Holiday Inn Express would offer nine rooms on the ground floor, with 28 on each of the three floors above, and first-floor amenities would include a lounge, meeting room, pantry, gym, an indoor pool and outdoor patio space. A combination of king, king suites, double queen and double queen suites are proposed. Lotus Management Inc. is seeking a zoning change to planned development/general commercial with a land use designation of community commercial, consistent with adjacent parcels. The Holiday Inn Express would join existing hotels clustered around the North Broadway and Preisker Lane intersection, including a Holiday Inn & Suites, Marriott’s Fairfield Inn & Suites, Candlewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites and Motel 6.
