Poon Architect  and developed by  Wei Hong Hu  of H Hotel LLC, the 447-foot-tall, 29-story structure is rising from a narrow plot below Bryant Park between Fifth and Sixth Avenue in New York City. The rendering shows a futuristic, glass-clad design with a dramatic cantilever high above street level. The development will contain a total of 56,000 square feet, with 41,500 square feet of commercial space and 65 hotel rooms, meeting rooms, a fitness center, and a hotel lobby along West 39th Street. City planning officials have approved the developer to build a boutique hotel on King Street. The new hotel, planned for 529 King Street in Charleston South Carolina, will be four stories tall, have 50 rooms, a rooftop seating area, and a courtyard. The former Dixie furniture store will be demolished to build the hotel. Method Company is the developer behind the project whose president is David Grasso. They plan to build their branded ROOST Apartment Hotel at the site. Plans for a $240 million Loews Hotels in Downtown Memphis has been approved by the design review board. The 500-room hotel will be located at the Main Street Mall project in downtown Memphis Tennessee.  The hotel’s main entrance would be on Main Street, which will be reopened for vehicular traffic between Adams Street and Poplar Avenue. Service entrances will be located on Second Street. Construction is set to begin later this year with completion in 2023. Plans include two ballrooms, meeting rooms, food and beverage services, and recreational amenities.  Loews Hotels is partnering with Inland Pacific Cos. on the project. The Par-A-Dice Hotel and Casino in Peoria Illinois will build a sportsbook as soon as the state gives approval. The property is in the process of submitting an application for a sports betting license. The company will also renovate the hotel’s 200 rooms, lobby and casino with plans to renovate the steakhouse and deli this year. They do not have a specific timeline for these projects, other than they will be working on them this year,   The casino hotel is owned and operated by Boyd Gaming. San Jose California lawmakers approved a plan for a proposed 19-story Moxy hotel. The arrangement approved Tuesday between Almaden Corner Hotel and the city will allow hotel guests to use up to 41 parking spaces in the public Market & San Pedro Square parking garage.  The project also includes 1,200 square feet of ground floor retail. A local developer plans to start construction on a downtown Missoula Montana hotel and events center in September. Nick Checota head of Clark Fork Riverfront Properties is planning the $100 million project. The complex includes seven acres in the Riverfront Triangle in downtown Missoula. The project will include two levels of underground parking. The hotel lobby and a public food court will occupy the hotel’s first floor, while the second floor will serve as a conference center. The third floor will include the hotel spa while the next four floors will offer roughly 135 hotel rooms. The top three floors will offer for-sale condominiums. The events center, located adjacent to the hotel, will anchor the corner of Orange and Front streets and offer room for up to 5,000 concert goers, making it one of the largest indoor performing arts centers in the state. The Viceroy Hotel Santa Monica California will start of a $21 million renovation that will update all aspects of the property. San Francisco-based firm EDG designed the project. In the first phase, guests can expect completely renovated public common areas, lobby, restaurant, outdoor patio and breathtaking open air indoor-outdoor wraparound bar and adjacent lounge. The hotel is located on Ocean Avenue and includes 162 guestrooms. The redesign will capture the energy of the surrounding neighborhood and turn the hotel into a vibrant gathering place for guests and locals alike. The renovation will include eye-catching art and creative spins on mid-century pieces, creating an experience that walks the line between urban edge and coastal calm. The phase one remodel of the hotel’s public spaces in addition to six pilot hotel rooms, featuring both beach and urban models and is planned for a June 2020 completion. Miami’s largest hotel plans to break ground in 2020 at Miami Worldcenter. The Marriott Marquis Miami Worldcenter Hotel & Expo Center would include 1,723 rooms and 500,000 square feet of convention space located in downtown Miami Florida at 664 N Miami Ave. A financing package is now being finalized, by the developer MDM. The hotel will be managed by Marriott International. Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates is the project Architect. Callisonrtkl is the interior designer. Coastal Construction Tishman is the construction manager. The Historic Hotel Belleville located at 16 S. Illinois Street in Belleville Illinois is beginning a $14.2 million renovation that will convert the property to the Lofts on the Square serviced residences and assisted living property.   The project will include 47 serviced residences, common areas, activity spaces, a library/computer lab, an exercise room and storage facilities. The six-story building will also include 3,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space on the first floor. The Southwestern Illinois Development Authority and Bywater Development Group are the developers on the project. General Contractor Holland Construction is heading up the renovation of the 90 year old building. Tim Simon is the project manager.
