Omni Resorts and Hotels and PC Construction will complete a $20 million renovation to the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. The project, which was designed by Bull Stockwell Allen and includes a 60,000-square-foot, four-story, 69-room hotel addition, complete with a guest lounge, public restrooms and a poolside grille, to the resort’s current 200-rooms. PC Construction will also complete a conference center kitchen upgrade and extensive roof improvements featuring a new rooftop bar, patio, and restrooms and landscaping. Seattle’s Fairmont Olympic Hotel will start a renovation of the lobby, meeting spaces, and food & beverage outlets in the first half of 2020. The hotel will remain open for business during the renovation, which will begin in January and is expected to be completed by summer. The hotel’s General Manager is Markus Treppenhauer. The lobby renovations will include the addition of a central bar, which will transition service throughout the periods of the day. It will start the day as a coffee bar, transitioning to afternoon tea and later hand-crafted cocktails.   The hotel will also refresh its event spaces with design upgrades, new lighting, and modern function space technology. Clearview Mall owners in Metairie Louisiana are redeveloping the property transforming it into an event and retail center that includes one million square feet of residential, hotel, retail, grocery, office, and entertainment space. The extensive renovation will include the construction of a hotel with a rooftop pool, 260 apartments and an outdoor event space. Drury Hotels Co. plans to build its largest property to date near Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The company expects the 604-room Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista to open in spring 2021 and to fully open by year-end 2021. The hotel will include more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space, a pool, a splash pad, a poolside cantina bar and grill, a grab-and-go marketplace, a kitchen-and-bar concept, a business center and a fitness center. The hotel, located in the Disney Springs Resort Area, will be able to be booked as part of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package. The property will offer transportation to and from the theme parks, as well as to other surrounding attractions. Chuck Drury is president/CEO of Drury Hotels. The new Drury Hotel general manager is Mike Weihs, and Melissa Linkugel director of sales. T2 Hospitality is planning a new hotel in the Dallas Uptown district. T2 Hospitality has acquired the block at Cedar Springs Road and Olive Street near the Crescent complex where the company plans to build a 19-story, 230-room luxury hotel. JSC Properties is proposing to redevelop a large portion of land in the neighboring Market District in Des Moines Iowa that could include residential, office, hotel, and retail and entertainment venues. JSC Properties will present its plans to the Des Moines City Council at a work session Monday morning. Later Monday, the Des Moines City Council will vote to receive and file the proposal, and direct staff to negotiate details on the sale and purchase of six blocks of city-owned property in the Market District. The 10-story, 23-year-old hotel is located at 1907 North Lamar Street near Ross Avenue. The project will include a complete redo of the property. A new hotel is planned for Troy Ohio. Construction on a new Home2 Suites by Hilton location recently broke ground. The extended-stay hotel, located at 1805 Towne Park Drive, is being built for $4.5 million. The hotel is being developed and managed by Florence, Kentucky based Seva Hospitality whose co-founder is Ravi Narsinghani. The hotel is expected to open July 2020. The hotel will span 61,859 square feet and have four stories, with a total of 95 rooms. The general contractor is Alpha Construction, based in Winesburg, Ohio. Home2 Suites will have a breakfast area with free continental breakfast and a fitness facility. Developers at Loews Hotels and Co. and The Cordish Companies plan a new 888 room hotel and convention center and an apartment complex attached to Globe Life Park in Arlington Texas. Loews Hotels will break ground on a new Arlington hotel in the city’s entertainment district, near Live! by Loews.  The Arlington city council Tuesday unanimously approved both the hotel and developments by the Cordish Companies.
 
The Cordish Companies will expand Texas Live, the entertainment district build around the new Rangers stadium in a partnership with the team, and introduce a new apartment complex and office building.   The developer is investing all $550 and developers will begin construction in 2020 and finish in 2023. Loews plans to include 888 rooms and 150,000 square feet of meeting, convention and exhibition space in the new hotel. With a sky bridge connecting the new hotel to the existing Live! by Loews. Alexander Tisch, is executive vice president for Loews Hotels. The development team behind a 212-room Hilton-branded hotel planned at 111 North Street near the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway has started construction on the project. A joint venture between CV Properties, Harbinger Development, and Olshan Properties expects to complete the $125 million building by the middle of 2021. Olshan will operate it as a Canopy by Hilton. The 111 North site straddles Boston Haymarket area. Olshan Properties CEO is Andrea Olshan. The project will also include 12,711 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
