The Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston Texas is undergoing a multi-phase renovation. The guestrooms renovation will be completed in 2021. The project that has already included updates to the lobby, front drive, the spa and fitness center, and the addition of Bayou & Bottle and Topgolf Swing Suites. Lauren Rottet of Rottet Studios is designing the project. Houston designer Eric Brand is providing custom made furniture for the guestrooms. A custom media wall with built-in storage, modern details and warm finishes provides guests with a place to pick up a book, listen to music on the Bose Bluetooth speaker, connect to their own personal Netflix account to watch a movie, or catch up on emails at the activity table. The hotel is managed by Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts. Turner Construction is the project general contractor. Tom Segesta is General Manager of the Four Seasons Houston.

The Ritz-Carlton hotel in White Plains, New York, will temporarily shut down to undergo a major renovation and rebranding before reopening in 2021 to join Marriott International’s Autograph Collection brand of 192 hotels worldwide.  Glacial Capital Partners is the owner of the Ritz-Carlton.  Marsha Gordon is president of Glacial Capital.  The multi-million dollar project will begin this summer, including a redesigned lobby and renovation of all 146 of its rooms. It will also include upgrades to the hotel gym, spa and pool and an expansion of the hotel’s ballroom and private event spaces to include a new bridal suite and seating capacity for 400 people.  The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester will continue to remain under the management of The Ritz-Carlton.


New construction of a Kimpton Hotel is planned in downtown Reno Nevada. CEO Chris Beavor of CAI Investments is developing the project. CAI has a $100 loan agreement with agreement with Pinnacle Lending Group to fund the development of the hotel. IHG owns the Kimpton Hotel brand that includes 67 boutique hotel worldwide. The 20-story project will include 270 guestrooms, 50 condo residences, 60,000 sf of office space and 20,000 sf of meeting space.

Arte Moreno owner of the California Angels and his company SRB Management plans a mixed use development at Angels Stadium that will include two hotels, 5-acre park, offices retail and residential in Anaheim California at the 153 acre site. The project is in the beginning planning phase and was just make public. Under the plan, baseball would remain the focal point but would be part of a diverse, walkable community with office buildings (2.7 million square feet) flanking the stadium to the north and south, and residential development (5,175 units) to the south and west with a 5-acre urban park at its heart. Two hotels would offer a total of 943 rooms, and restaurants, shops and entertainment would add another 1.1 million square feet to the development.

The project, an 87-room hotel with restaurant, bar and spa, is proposed for two parcels on the town’s main street; 241 Winslow Way West and 253 Winslow Way West, Bainbridge Island, WA. Last week, the city’s Design Review Board signed off on revisions to the project that added 12 additional hotel rooms as well as more parking. American Liberty Hospitality is preparing to begin construction on a dual-branded Holiday Inn Express/Staybridge Suites near Houston’s Galleria area. The 14-story hotel will include 319 guest rooms, as well as a detached 110,326-square-foot parking garage.
 
Arch-Con is serving as generation contractor for the project, which is being built on a nearly 1.8-acre parcel at 2351 W. Loop S., just inside the 610 Loop between San Felipe Street and Westheimer Road. The hotel is expected to open late 2020. The project will entail cast-in-place concrete and an exterior consisting of an insulation and finish system, stone, aluminum curtainwall and storefronts.
 
The parking garage will be a precast concrete structure. The project will also include a full-size outdoor second level pool and patio deck, guest fitness center, guest laundry facilities, grab-and-go food areas, retail and large conference space. Mitchell Carlson Stone Inc. is the project designer.

The Brewery District development, located at 477 S. Front St in Columbus Ohio, was awarded the tax credits and will be renovated and converted to a Boutique Hotel and mixed use project.
 
Plans for the complex, include a boutique hotel, office and co-working space, a spa and fitness facility, several event spaces and a brewery.
 
The tax credits, which are awarded by the state twice a year, are used by developers to help close funding gaps for historic renovation projects that would otherwise prove challenging to complete.
 
Dwight McCabe of the McCabe Companies is the developer behind the $70 million project which includes $5 million in Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits.
