Construction will start the summer of 2023 on the $350 million Lake of the Ozarks resort and amusement park in Missouri. That will include a $180 million 400 guestroom Marriott hotel, which will be built alongside an amusement park, indoor water park and conference center. The project is being planned by SkyView Partners and Tegethoff Development, along with Fred Ross, of Big Thunder Marine. The project, at Highway 54 and Jeffries Road in Osage Beach, adjacent to the Grand Glaize Bridge. Site work and infrastructure for the entire 25-acre site is scheduled to begin this summer, with construction on the hotel, amusement park and 1,000-space parking garage kicking off simultaneously. The amusement park and parking garage are scheduled to open in summer 2024. The hotel and indoor water park will finish construction by 2026. The new Marriott Hotels resort will have a 26,000-square-foot conference center, a full-service spa, restaurants, an outdoor pool, pickleball courts and a fitness center. The Marriott will be located next to the 50,000-square-foot enclosed water park that will be built by OpenAire, a designer, manufacturer and installer of custom retractable roof structures. The water park will be operated by water park management company American Resort Management. The 25-acre amusement park consists of roller coasters, thrill and family rides, and a 200-foot-tall Ferris wheel. The hotel will be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality. Jeff Tegethoff, is the principal of Tegethoff Development.

The Union Station Nashville Yards Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel in Tennessee is undergoing a guestrooms renovation to be completed in the fall of 2023. The 125 room historic hotel includes two food and beverage offerings and 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The property was built as a train station in 1900 and converted to a hotel in 1986. Southwest Value Partners owners the hotel.  Bill Simmons is the hotel’s general manager.

Developer Jumani Hotels & Resorts Inc., which owns the SureStay Plus by Best Western Lake Buena Vista at 8200 Palm Parkway in Orlando Florida, filed an application to build a 110-room Hyatt House hotel at 11901 Ravallo Resort Drive in Orlando. The 2.16-acre parcel of undeveloped land has Lake Street to the north, Palm Parkway to the west and Ravallo Resort Drive to the east and south as the roadway curves around the property. The Hyatt House is an extended stay brand which features full kitchens with dishwashers, stoves, microwave/air fryers, refrigerators and laundry facilities.

The Hague, Netherlands. The Mauritshuis Museum announced their Ode to the “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johanne (Jan) Vermeer. The museum has selected a few artist from around the world to showcase artist’ depictions of the “Girl with a Pearl Earring.” Over 3500 creations were submitted, less than 200 were selected. The museum also houses the most prominent paintings by Johanne (Jan) Vermeer, “Girl with a Pearl Earring” painted around 1665. People travel to The Hague from all over the world to see Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” and creators from around the world create re imagine depictions.

The Parx Casino in Bensalem, Bucks County Pennsylvania plans to build a 13-story hotel with two restaurants connected to the casino. The hotel, at 3001 State Road, is expected to operate as a Marriott brand and will be connected to the casino by a walkway. It will have 300 rooms and a large banquet hall.  Construction is expected to begin later this year with a target for completion in 2025. One of the new restaurants will be in the hotel lobby, with a more upscale concept on the top floor. In addition to the banquet hall, an outdoor lawn will be available for weddings and other events. The hotel also will have a spa, fitness center and coffee shop. The casino is owned and operated by Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, Inc. The new hotel is being designed by Gensler.

The Water Club, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City New Jersey is planning a $55 million redesign and rebranding. The property will renovate its 757 guestrooms and suites and the Water Club will be rebranded as the MGM Tower.  MGM bought the Borgata in 2016 which opened in 2008. The property includes 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space, two indoor pools, two outdoor pools and five retail shops. The renovation will add new luxury vista suites to the property the will include large living space and dining areas with a private bedroom and two bathrooms with wraparound views of the Atlantic City skyline.  Corey Sanders is the COO of MGM Resorts International.  MGM Resorts International Design Group and RVD Associates are the project’s interior designers. Travis Lunn, is President and COO of the Borgata. The Borgata includes 2,000 guestrooms, 106m000 square feet of meeting space, 161,000 square feet of gaming space and a 2,400 seat event center.

The M Resort & Casino in Henderson, Nevada whose is operator Penn Entertainment filed plans for a new tower at its hotel-casino, as part of a $200 million-plus expansion project. Penn submitted an application for a concept plan review with the city of Henderson that outlined plans for a new 375-room hotel tower, 40,000-square-foot convention center and multiplex theater at the M, located at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Rose Parkway at the valley’s southern edge. Penn Entertainment announced the $206 million expansion for the M in October. The second tower would add 384 rooms and 15,000 square feet of meeting space and it plans to start construction this year.
