Site work has started on the planned Element Hotel, a Marriott-branded adaptive reuse project at 2200 Stockton Blvd. in Sacramento, California. The 146-room hotel will occupy part of the former Coca-Cola bottling plant site and include a new five-story building behind the existing two-story structure. Vertical framing is to begin early next year. Leeland Properties closed a construction loan from Preferred Bank, enabling work to restart after demolition was completed. The project is on a 19- to 20-month construction schedule, with an opening planned for spring or summer 2028. Johnson Hospitality will manage the hotel and operate retail space in the existing building, including a bar-lounge and full kitchen. Tricorp Group is the general contractor. Stanton Architecture is designing the project.
