Developer Matthew Abbate of Tar Creek Ranch LLC is planning to build a Marriott Tribute Mtn Scout hotel in Truckee, California. The $53.5 million project has broken ground and is expected to open in fall 2028 as the hospitality anchor of the Village at Gray’s Crossing mixed-use development. The three-story, 94,196-square-foot hotel will include 129 guest rooms, a ground-floor restaurant and bar, a detached event hall, fitness center, valet gear storage, more than 11,500 square feet of outdoor gathering space with fire pits and hot tubs, and Tunnel 6, a third-floor whiskey lounge inspired by the historic transcontinental railroad tunnel near Donner Summit. The project team includes Andrew Goodwin Designs, Huff Construction Company, H-CPM Hospitality, & Sixteenfifty Creative Intelligence.
