White Lodging has broken ground on a 14-story, 295-room Marriott Autograph Collection hotel in Charlotteās South End, at South Tryon and Bland streets. Designed around wellness, the hotel will include 10,000 square feet of meeting space, a chef-driven ground-floor restaurant, and a fifth-floor open-air pool deck with a public steam sauna, hot and cold plunge pools, wellness programming, a spa, and a restaurant and bar. The project team includes Abeyta Architecture Studio, Corgan Architects, interior design firm Looney & Associates, and general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie. Conner White, vice chairman and chief investment officer at White Lodging, said the hotel is expected to open in late 2028.
