A new condominium hotel is being proposed at a gateway intersection in downtown State College, Pennsylvania. Plans include a nine story mixed-use building with commercial space and a condominium hotel at 321 W. Beaver Avenue. The project proposes a mixed-use building located at the intersection of South Atherton Street and West Beaver Avenue. The proposed building will have 4,760 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor and a condominium hotel with 72 units on the upper floors. The plans were submitted by PVE, and the owner Haugh Realty, Inc.

Developers are preparing to break ground on a new Margaritaville Resort at Galveston, Texas’ East Beach. The $700 million project is being developed by partners RREAF Holdings LLC and Innisfree Hotels which will be located on 95 acres at East Beach Drive. At 15 stories and 300,000 square feet, the 334 guestroom resort will include a 2.5-acre elevated deck overlooking the beach with a large pool, water slides and a 350-foot lazy river. Additional amenities include a ballroom, pickleball courts and a family entertainment center with arcade. Also included will be, 278 cottages on 15 beachfront acres to the east side of the resort and on 22 acres north of East Beach Drive. The fully furnished, for-sale Margaritaville Beach Cottages will have between two and six bedrooms and range from 780 to 4,500 square feet. The resort will have several restaurants, including a Margaritaville Restaurant in the hotel lobby and LandShark Bar & Grill next to the pool deck, both of which will be open to the general public. There will also be a Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Provisions, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar and Salty Rim Bar & Grill in the cottages area. Gensler as the project architect and Tellepsen is the general contractor. McBride Co. is the interior designer. Construction is to start this quarter, and be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Kip Sowden is CEO of RREAF and Carl Schwab is President.

Developer Baxter Hotel Group is planning a $73 million 263 guest room dual-brand Home2 Suites (130 keys) and Tru by Hilton Hotel (133 keys) in San Diego, California. The hotel’s amenities include sustainable designs to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, a ground-floor restaurant and a rooftop pool fully equipped with a restaurant and bar. Baxter plans to begin construction on the 16-story, dual-branded hotel this month and expects to complete construction in 22 months.

The Snoqualmie Tribe has started a $400 million multi-phase expansion project at its Snoqualmie Casino complex at 37500 S.E. North Bend Way in Snoqualmie, Washington. The expansion will add a 10-story hotel, destination spa, 2,000-seat entertainment and convention center, 11,000 square feet of additional gaming floor space, a new parking structure, 500-stall valet garage, and two or three new restaurant spaces to be housed in a new four-level podium building. The hotel will be located atop a portion of that structure. The expansion is located in back of the existing casino. Bergman Walls & Associates is the project architect. Skanska is the general contractor. Cary Kopczynski & Co. is the expansion project’s structural engineer. Macdonald-Miller, is providing mechanical and plumbing services; and Cumming Group is the project management and cost consulting firm. The hotel portion, which will have 210 guestrooms and suites with easy access to the existing casino gaming floor that has over 1,700 slot machines, 55 table games, and a 10-table poker room. The expansion is to be completed and open to the public in 2025.

Developers Pointe Vista Holding Co and Hard Rock International are planning to build a resort hotel as part of the Pointe Vista mixed use development at Lake Texoma, Oklahoma.  The 2,700 acre master planned resort community will also include: residences, a golf course, waterpark, entertainment center, amphitheater and casino. The hotel will have 189 guest rooms; with 25 suites and 168 residence rentals, a 18,000-square-foot conference center and event lawn for weddings, social events, and corporate events. GSB, Inc is the project Architect. Aimbridge Hospitality will manage the hotel. Tiffany Cooper is chief development officer with Aimbridge.  Todd Hricko is Vice President with Hard Rock International.   Construction of the hotel and convention center will begin in March 2024 and be complete for opening in the second quarter of 2026.

Developers Urban Network Capital Group and Vertical Development are proposing to build a condo-hotel between the Design District and Edgewater in Miami, Florida. The condo-hotel would be located on a 19,292-square-foot site at 445 and 455 N.E. 36th Street plus 3618 and 3630 N.E. Fifth Ave. on the south side of Interstate 195 along the exit ramp, the property currently has four small apartment buildings. Under their proposal, the hotel would total 175,557 square feet in 27 stories, with 180 rooms, 7,290 square feet of retail and 121 parking spaces making use of vehicle lifts. That would include 24 electric vehicle charging spaces. The hotel rooms would range from 393 to 2,127 square feet, with a select number of especially large units on the upper floors. There would be 17 studios, 85 junior suites, 51 one-bedroom suites, 20 two-bedroom suites, three three-bedroom suites, and four four-bedroom suites. Kobi Karp Architecture designed the project. Robert Thorne is CEO of UNCG.

Developer Turnberry, the builder of the JW Marriott Nashville, Tennessee is planning a new hotel downtown next to the JW Marriott proposing to build a St. Regis Hotel in the adjacent park. The firm has partnered with Marriott to develop the 39-story hotel and condominium tower. The St. Regis Hotel and Residences will offer 177 hotel rooms and 111 condominium units. Plans for the 740,000-square-foot building also include a fine dining restaurant, lobby bar, three-meal restaurant, full-service spa and two amenity decks. The project is expected to break ground in 2025.

Developers are proposing to build a new 112 guestroom TownePlace Suites by Marriott Hotel in Clermont, Florida at the intersection of SR 50 and Omar Street. The project proposal was submitted by McCoy & Associates Engineers and Planners owned by Rick McCoy which shows a four story hotel with pool deck and outdoor tiki bar with separate 294 seat restaurant and 202 space parking lot. George Tsunis of George Tsunis Real Estate is the project’s developer.

The owners of the luxury mall the Bal Harbour Shops in Bal Harbour, Florida have proposed a mixed-use project at the site. The development would include a hotel, multifamily housing with some workforce units. Owners Whitman Family Development proposal would be an addition to the Bal Harbour Shops on 18 acres at 9700 Collins Ave. with a 70-room hotel and 600 residential units, with 40% of them workforce housing, and 45,700 square feet of additional retail space. The tallest tower would rise 275 feet. The developer would build the attainable housing on the southwest corner of the property first, followed by luxury housing and the hotel. Amenities would include pool decks, lounges and fitness centers. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is the architect of the project. Matthew Whitman Lazenby, is CEO of Whitman Family Development.

A new Holiday Inn Express Hotel is being planned for Downtown Maryville Tennessee. The $16 million 98 guestroom hotel would be located on West Broadway Ave. Construction is set to begin in the 2nd quarter of 2024 and take one year to complete. The hotel as planned will be four floors with a two-floor parking garage underneath. The project is being designed by Mark Rondolph, president of Randolph Architecture.
