A new luxury resort hotel is being planned for the Caribbean island of Granada. The new hotel called the Beach House will be a 28 guestroom resort set on a cliff behind Granada’s Portici Beach. The hotel is being developed by the owners of the Silversands Hotel, a 43 guestroom property that was built in 2018. The proposed Beach House will feature a combination of one-bedroom villas and two-bedroom suites that will include both cliff-side and beach front accommodations.

A proposal project to redevelop the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Miami Florida is moving forward.  The current Hyatt hotel and convention center at 400 SE 2nd Ave will be redeveloped. The new $1.7 billion project known as Riverbridge will include three towers with the tallest at 95 stories and 1,049 feet. There will be 1,806 apartments, a 615 guestroom Hyatt Regency Hotel and 190,000 square feet of meeting space. Project partners include: Gencom, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Arquitectonica.

Finnery Crossing developers Rieley Properties and Snyder Commercial Properties are partnering with Erik Hoekstra of Redstone Development on a 2nd new hotel in the Finney Crossing neighborhood in Williston, Vermont. Hoekstra is the managing general partner of both the existing 100-room Hilton built in 2020 and the proposed 115-room hotel, which will be sited at the corner of Holland Lane and Market Street. The landowner and official project applicant is Rieley Properties and Snyder Commercial Properties the partnership of Rieley and Chris Snyder that has created the mixed-use neighborhood that now includes a variety of national and regional restaurants and retailers, as well as a mix of condominiums and apartments. The hotel is sited on one of three remaining unbuilt lots in Finney Crossing. On the drawing board for the other two remaining lots are an apartment building and a multi-tenant commercial building. In contrast to the Hilton hotel, the new hotel is designed in an L shape and with a sloped roof, in accordance with the new form-based code.

Developers are planning to build two Jacksonville, Florida area TownePlace Suites by Marriott Hotels. Construction is set to start on a 5-story TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 1625 Jeremiah St. in Middleburg in Clay County. Construction will start in the second quarter of 2023, with an estimated opening in late summer of 2024. The 95,000-square-foot hotel will include 126 rooms comprising studios and one- and two-bedroom suites. All rooms include a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and stovetop, as well as larger work areas. Amenities include a swimming pool, on-site fitness center, indoor-outdoor dining, barbecue grills, a lakefront fire pit, convenience store and guest laundry facility. The hotel is being developed by Paradigm Development Partners and Kellogg & Kimsey Inc. The city of Jacksonville is reviewing a permit application for a 2nd three-story TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 2850 Mayport Road. D.R. Patel Construction LLC is the general contractor for the $7.9 million project. BRR Architecture, is the architect. Shivam Property Management LLC, is the developer. The 93-unit hotel is 55,000 square feet. It is being developed on 2.03 acres.

The Marquette Michigan City Planning Commission approved a site plan development for a new hotel. The proposed project would be an 81-room, three-story Best Western Hotel & Suites located at 1200 and 1220 Wilson St. That’s along McClellan Avenue between Wilson Street and Odovero Drive. The project developer, is Moyle Companies led by Andrew Kemper. The next step for Moyle Companies is to get permits from other authorities such as MDOT and the Marquette County Building Codes Department.

Developer Sunflower Development Group will build a Margaritaville themed hotel with 230 guest rooms as a central piece of the $838 million Homefield project in Kansas City, Kansas. Designed by Generator Studio, and master developer Homefield LLC the 400-acre site located near 94th Street and State Avenue, surrounding the former Schlitterbahn water park property the project will also include a $20 million location for BigShots Golf, a golf-themed food and entertainment attraction with 60 tee boxes for virtual games and competitions and a $53 million and a 55,000-square-foot multi-sport and live music arena. Homefield is also working to finalize an agreement with concert promoter Live Nation, which would hold events about 110 nights of the year, leaving the rest for different sporting events. A $26.7 million immersive art museum with a movie theater, called Atlas 9 where the 30,000-square-foot museum would be built alongside local experience design firm Dimensional Innovations. Homefield is also finalizing contracts terms for a pickleball entertainment complex called 6S Pickleball, a Hilton Garden Inn hotel, a Super Car Guys used car dealership, new medical office building and indoor karting attraction. Homefield LLC was founded and is led by Sporting Kansas City co-owner Robb Heineman.

Developers are proposing to build a Sleep Inn off Kedron Parkway in Springhill Tennessee. The Sleep Inn was brought before the Municipal Planning Commission, where the property and design of the structure was discussed. The current concept plan shows the hotel would be three stories in height and contain 48 rooms. The project is applicant is T-Square Engineering. The applicant is requesting 57 parking spaces, although city codes require 96 spaces. The proposed variance would require approval by the Spring Hill Board of Zoning Appeals. Sean Kramer, is the project architect representing the applicant.

A Home2 Suites by Hilton Hotel is being proposed by Moment Development to be built at 2577 Walker Lake Road in Ontario, Ohio. Moment Development has nearly completed its construction documents and plans to present architectural designs at the next planning commission meeting. The property owners plan to share ownership of the cinema drive and pave additional space outside of Walker Lake Road. The project could begin construction at the end of 2023 and take 12 months to complete. Chris Knapton is director of development administration for Moment Development.

Developer AIMCO is planning a mixed use development for the former Searstown site in Fort Lauderdale, Florida the will include apartments, offices, retail and a hotel. The plans for the 5.64-acre site at 901 N. Federal Highway calls for 797 apartments, 104,317 square feet of office, 70,693 square feet of retail, a 17,485-square-foot grocery store, 10,000 square feet of restaurants, a 188-room hotel and 1,977 parking spaces. There would be two 30-story towers plus a 21-story tower, all connected by a parking podium. The office space would cover four double-height floors within the nine-story parking podium. There would be an amenity deck atop the parking podium featuring three pools and a gym. Attorney Courtney Crush, is representing AIMCO in the application. The project is being designed by Stantec.
