Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Midad Real Estate are planning to build a Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Jeddah Saudi Arabia, which is scheduled to open in 2024. The project will be located within the Corniche District, with views of the Red Sea and Jeddah’s classic architecture. Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Jeddah at the Corniche will include 269 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites, 21 serviced apartments for short and long-term stays and 64 Private Residences including two penthouses. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is the project architect and Richmond International the interior designer. Each space will be thoughtfully created to incorporate opulent, tasteful design elements. Accommodations will include expansive living spaces for families, tranquil spa-inspired bathrooms and marble-clad interiors throughout. The serviced apartments will be available in two and three-bedroom configurations starting at 1,250 square feet.

The Islands Garden mixed use resort development on Watson Island in Miami Florida is moving forward with the developer signing a utilities agreement with the county to supply water and sewer services.  The project will include: 455 hotel rooms, 150 apartments, 221,000 square feet of retail, 136,140 square feet for restaurants, a 13,800 square feet banquet hall (without kitchen), 10,340 square feet for a bar or cocktail lounge, and 50 marina slips. Flagstone Property Group is the project developer, Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates is the project architect. Coastal Construction is the construction manager. Technomarine Group is building the marina.

North Iowa Development Partners LLC plans to develop a new Cobblestone Inn & Suites hotel at the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 and Iowa Highway 4, just north of Rockwell City in Calhoun County Iowa. Construction of the 45-room hotel is expected to begin in 2023. The building site is located in the Calhoun County Business Park, across the street from the Sparky’s Convenience Store that is being rebuilt after a Nov. 23, 2021, fire destroyed the original building. Jonathan Wetter, is the leader of the development team. Cobblestone will be responsible for management of the hotel, and the investor group will not be involved in daily operations.

A new hotel has been approved for downtown Fayetteville Arkansas. The planed hotel by Brain Reindl or Reindl Properties is for a seven-story, 134-room hotel next to the Upper Ramble where a civic plaza is planned across from the Walton Arts Center. The plaza, which is part of the ongoing cultural arts corridor work, will replace the existing 290-space parking lot once construction is complete on a nearby replacement parking deck. Architect Rob Sharp is heading up design of the hotel, while Windsor Aughtry, which specializes in projects based in college towns across the southeast part of the country, is the hotel consultant. C.R. Crawford Construction is the general contractor. Estimated cost of the development is $50 million.

Hotel developer PA Hospitality is planning to begin construction of a 221 guestroom Tru by Hilton & Home2 Suites Hotel at 1514 Leeland Street in downtown Houston Texas. PA obtained a $37.4 million construction loan to build the dual branded hotel located south of Toyota Center and the George R Brown Convention Center. Owned by Alif Maredia, PA Hospitality will manage the hotel which will break ground by the end of the year and be completed the 3rd quarter of 2023. Hall Structured Finance provided the construction loan for the project.

A new 114-key boutique hotel with a significant food and beverage focus has been proposed for the EDGE District of downtown St. Pete Florida. The 13-story hotel will rise 150 feet above the EDGE District on the corner of Central Avenue and 11th Street near Ilan Averbuch’s Sun on the EDGE roundabout sculpture. The project will have 321 feet of Central Avenue frontage. The development planned by developer Jonathan Daou, President of Eastman Equity. The project will consist of the main hotel tower plus approximately six food and beverage concepts scattered throughout, including a lobby bar, a pool bar on the 2nd floor, and a rooftop bar on the 13th floor with sweeping views of the downtown St. Pete skyline. The 1940s building that until recently housed Karma Juice Bar & Eatery will not be demolished, but instead be incorporated into the new hotel’s design and occupied by a new full-service restaurant. Albert Alfonso of Alfonso Architects is designing the project. Daou hopes to break ground on the hotel by early 2023 with an opening in the first half of 2024.

Hotel developer Beechwood Pinnacle Hotels is planning a $73 million renovation of a 109-year-old historic building along Grand Boulevard in downtown Kansas City Missouri. Beechwood Pinnacle Hotels is expected to start construction on its conversion of the 13-story Rialto Building at 906-910 Grand Blvd. into a 240-room AC Hotel by Marriott late this year and the project then would be completed in 2023. The AC Rialto plans to include a first-floor restaurant and bar, plus meeting space and an exercise facility. The hotel will not include on-site parking and instead anticipates using an 85-space lot about two blocks away, at 710 Walnut St., for valet service. Beechwood manages 20 hotels with 2,183 guest rooms throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma and Mississippi.

Steeplejack Brewing in Manzanita Oregon is planning an addition that will include: a family-friendly pub, taphouse and bar with a rooftop deck, a pinball and games arcade, a hotel, a bocce ball court, and, ice cream shop. Initial design plans for the complex have been approved by the city that will blend into downtown Manzanita. The double lot complex, at 220 Laneda Ave., is across the street from Manzanita Grocery and Deli, The Little Apple. It is adjacent to Dixie’s Vino wine tasting room to the west and Finnesterre home goods store to the east. Construction will start early next year with construction to be complete late 2024. Brody Day and Dustin Harder are the project developers and Steeplejack owners.

A busy commercial area along Jackson Road just outside Ann Arbor Michigan is planned to get a new business park, and extended-stay hotel. Developers are proposing the project, called the Honey Creek Business Park, for a 25-acre property near the intersection of Jackson and Zeeb roads. The land, at 5411 Jackson Road, is the site of a former Edwards Brothers Malloy book manufacturing and printing facility that the company closed in 2018. The plans submitted to Scio Township are in early stages, they show a four-story, 122-room hotel behind an existing Burger King and Zippy Auto Wash. Concord Development is planning the project with owner RSH Equites LLC. A.R. Brouwer Co is the project’s construction manager led by Mark Melshi. Carlisle Wortman Assocites Inc is the project’s master planners & architect. Metro Consulting Associates is the project’s engineer.

Developer Sunbeam Properties plans an 8-10 tower development in North Bay Village Florida. The recently approved project will include 7.3 million square feet, including 8-10 towers rising up to 650 feet, with: 1,936 residential units (117 will be workforce housing units), 200,000 square foot Class A HQ office building, 300-room luxury hotel with sky restaurant and observation deck. Hyatt signed a letter expressing interest in operating the hotel. 670,000 square feet of commercial, with grocery store, restaurants, entertainment, and retail, a small production studio, a state-of-the-art marina, and 5,000 parking spaces. A baywalk along the waterfront called Island Walk is planned. The developer also wants to build a pedestrian bridge across 79th street and add a water taxi/ferry service. Plusurbia is designing the project.
