Excavation has begun at 150 West 48 th Street in Midtown Manhattan site in New York. The 974 guestroom, 330 foot tall, 34 story hotel tower is designed by Gene Kaufman Architects and is being developed by Sam Chang of McSam Hotel Group. McSam purchased the lot for $140 million in 2019 and secured a $250 million construction loan to build the project. The 150 West 48th Street project is steps from the 47-50 Streets Rockefeller Center subway station.
