Developer JB Leamer is planning to build a 74 guest room boutique hotel in the Oxbow area in Napa California. The project is proposed as part of the Oxbow Gateway project on First Street spread across a pair of four story buildings.  Each building at First and Oxbow would contain 37 guest rooms, with space for street-level retail stores and two levels of underground parking. The complex would include an interior courtyard and private terraces, along with a swimming pool, spa, fitness center, conference and meeting space, and a cafe featuring a sculpture garden. The project is in the planning with the final approval pending the city council’s decision.

Summa Development Group has filed plans to build a mixed use tower in downtown Orlando Florida that would include a 5-star hotel and condos to open in late 2023. The developer has a contract on a 7-parcel assemblage across from its 24-story Citi Tower apartment building at 101 Lake Ave. The submitted plans include a 228-key luxury convention hotel with more than 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space on three floors and a Sky Club on the 33rd floor with a pool and outdoor dining.
 
The first floor would feature two restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating, separate lobbies for both the hotel and convention center and 14,310 square feet of public space. The hotel rooms would be located on six floors above the eight-level parking garage. The ninth floor includes a spa and shared amenities, with a gym, outdoor fitness center, lap pool, hot tub and cabanas. The project goes to the city’s Municipal Planning Board in September.

The Huntley Village planning commission approved the construction of 100 guestroom Hampton Inn Hotel. The project will include a four-story, 100-room Hampton Inn hotel in Lot 2 of Huntley Crossings corporate park, just east of Route 47 and south of Powers Road in Huntley Village Illinois. The hotel would occupy about 3.7 acres of the 11.3-acre lot. The main building entrance would face toward Route 47. The Huntley Hampton Inn project is expected to cost about $11.5 million. The project is proposed by developer Henry Patel.

The Catawba Indian Nation plans to break ground for a proposed casino and resort off Interstate 85 in Kings Mountain, 30 miles west of Charlotte North Carolina.  In March, the federal Department of the Interior approved a land deal that clears the way for a casino complex at Exit 5 off I-85.  The project calling for a 195,000-square-foot casino and resort. It would include 75,128 square feet for gaming, with 54 table games and 1,800 electronic gaming machines.   It would also house a 940-seat restaurant, a hotel and retail space. Delaware North will manage the casino & resort. Rob Schaeffer Visualization and Planning is designing the project. The project will cost $273 million to develop and will open in late 2021.

Owners Twin River Worldwide Holdings Inc. plans to invest $61 million into renovating the Isle of Capri Casino off East Front Street in Kansas City Missouri re-branding the property as Casino KC. The project is planned to start in 2021, will renovate the interior and exterior of the building and add new restaurants, retail, a spa and amphitheater. Phase 2 of the project will include the construction of a new hotel adjacent to the casino.

The Clermont Florida City Council has approved the construction of the 50 guestrooms boutique Elyksian Waterfront Hotel designed for Elite Athletes. The proposed four-star hotel will be in the center of a coast-to-coast trail running from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. The project is being developed by Roman Brana of Epic Cycles World and a team of investors which overlooks Lake Minneola and the South Lake Trails. The Elyksian is scheduled to break ground in 2021. A 12-story 150 guestroom AC Marriott Hotel is planned at 370 S Garfield Street is the Cherry Creek area of Denver Colorado. The hotel is being built by Sunridge Hotel Group which has submitted development plans to the city. The one-story retail building on the property has yet to be demolished.

The Santa Barbara Planning Commission gave unanimous support to build a luxury hotel project on the corner of East Cabrillo Boulevard and South Calle Cesar Chavez in Santa Barbara California. Developer Robert Green Company is building the 86 guestrooms hotel. The development would include a detached one-story retail building, patios, gardens, a spa and electric vehicle parking spaces. The hotel’s bar would be open to the public.

Dezer Development is moving forward with plans to transform Intracoastal Mall in North Miami Beach Florida into a high-rise, mixed-use community including hotels. The planning board voted 5 to 2 in favor of zoning amendments that will allow Dezer Development to replace the one-story, 234,000-square-foot Intracoastal Mall with a development of more than 2 million square feet. Plans include 35-foot tall townhouses, 85-foot tall apartment buildings, and high-rises ranging between 160 feet to 495 feet in height and to build a 250-room hotel. The project that will include 2,000 residential units, 375,000 square feet of retail, 200,000 square feet of office, the 250-room hotel, and a new canal. The development agreement also includes 8 acres of parks, a transportation bus hub and water taxi. The project, which will be built in phases, is projected to be completed by 2031. Bernard Zyscovich, is the architect and planner designing Intracoastal Mall’s new site plan.

San Diego Loyal SC, the expansion USL Championship franchise has partnered with a group called Midway Sports & Entertainment District (MSED) on a plan to update 48 acres of prime real estate at San Diego’s Pechanga Arena. Their plan includes a $125 million modernization of the sports arena and adding a new 15,000-seat soccer venue. A 12-acre public park with emphasis on fitness and youth sports. A new 3,500-seat music venue. 1,442 housing units, of which at least 10% will be affordable housing units (60% area median income) and built by BRIDGE Housing. 185,000 square feet of office space. 106,500 square feet of retail space. 250 hotel rooms. 3,004 parking spaces: 1,800 event parking and 1,204 mixed-use parking. The project is planned to begin construction in 2022 and finish in 2029.
