The site not only includes the property of the Beach Theatre, which was built in 1950 and demolished in 2011, but also several storefronts along Beach Avenue and Gurney Street. The project will cost in the range of $100 million with plans to file a formal application in the next 60 days. The project would include a rooftop pool and 268 parking spaces contained on four interior levels. Other features would include ground-floor retail, restaurants, cafés and a ballroom.

The Osage Nation Native American tribe plans to bring casino gambling to the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. The Osage Nation Indian Tribe will invest approximately $60 million to develop a hotel featuring gambling, restaurants and entertainment venues. Most of the tribe’s Missouri lands, including the area south of the Missouri River, were ceded to the U.S. in a treaty signed in 1808. Any land purchased must be put into a trust for the Nation by the Department of the Interior. And the nation must negotiate a compact with the state dividing responsibilities for law enforcement on the casino property and establishing taxation by the Indian tribe of such activity in amounts comparable to amounts assessed by the state for comparable activities. Gov. Mike Parson, or his successor, would have to approve the compact, according to federal law. Tribes have the right to offer gambling that mirrors what the state allows for any purpose by any person, organization, or entity. If the state refuses to negotiate a compact, or does not do so in good faith, the tribe may sue in federal court.

Hard Rock International is planning a $70 million hotel investment at its Downtown Cincinnati Ohio property, as part of its strategy to transform the 9-year-old casino into more of a regional destination. Hard Rock International operates 13 casinos, 34 hotels and 238 Cafes and Rock Shops.   Up to 300 rooms are planned for the project, with a spa, fitness center and luxury suites for high rollers. The hotel will be built either on the casino’s front lawn along Eggleston Avenue or north of the casino’s parking garage in what’s now a surface lot. In addition to the hotel, Hard Rock has already invested $40 million to upgrade its dining options and concert facilities. It also built a sports book so the casino is equipped if and when Ohio lawmakers legalize such wagers. Jon Lucas is COO of Hard Rock International. The project will begin construction early on 2022.
