Madison Realty Capital has provided a $225 million construction loan on The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton, a planned 12-story, 580,000 s/f luxury condominium tower in Boca Raton, Florida.
 
The financing will allow owner/developer Penn-Florida Companies to complete the 12-story, 288,000 square-foot luxury condominium tower with an additional 22,000 s/f of retail.
 
This will be the third and final tower at the two million-square-foot Via Mizner resort in the heart of the Southeast Florida community.
 
The construction of the condominium tower commenced several months ago along with the new 164-room Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which will give condo owners access to the hotel and Via Mizner’s amenity package.
 
The condominium will join a growing list of nearly 20 current and upcoming The Residences at Mandarin Oriental properties located from Bali to Bangkok, Moscow to Munich.
 
The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton will offer 92 custom homes with ocean and golf course views. The Residences will be connected to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel by way of a two-story underground parking garage as well as an upper-level bridge featuring a fitness center, spa and meeting space.
 
In addition to the hotel and condo components, Via Mizner will include a 366-unit luxury apartment building and 60,000 s/f of retail.

The developer of a proposed $40 million mixed-use development with 150 hotel rooms on Broadway Street in downtown Asheville North Carolina will go to city planning board.
 
Along with the hotel rooms, the plan for a development now known as Create 72 Broadway calls for 30 residential units, 75 parking spaces and some 3,800 square feet of commercial space fronting both Broadway and North Market streets near Asheville Masonic Temple.
 
Birju Patel the project’s Greensboro-based developer and president of BPR Properties, along with Architect Peter Alberice are the companies behind the project.

The Marriott River Walk located at Hemisfair on South Alamo Street in San Antonio Texas is planning a major renovation project. The renovation in scheduled to begin mid 2020. The project is still in the planning phase and project details have not been finalized. The hotel contains 251 guestrooms, outdoor pool, six acres of gardens and 17,000 sf of meeting space. The hotel is owned and managed by a partnership that includes: White Lodging and REI Real Estate Services.

Developer Michael Rosenfeld  of Woodridge Capital Partners plans to transform a 4.53-acre site on the corner of Garden and East Yanonali streets, currently used mostly for storage containers, into a hotel with 119 standard guestrooms and 131 extended stay guestrooms.
 
The Santa Barbara, California Planning Commission on Thursday gave the project its early support at a concept review hearing. The hotel design includes restaurants, bar, lounge, library, laundry rooms, a pool, and a roof deck.  Architect Brian Cearnal is designing the project.

A new 55-room hotel is planned for Plymouth Michigan. Van Horn Real Estate and partner Cobblestone Hotels will build the hotel which is scheduled for completion in 2020.
 
Van Horn Real Estate and Cobblestone Hotels have signed a letter of intent to develop the property, which will be located on Eastern Avenue. The hotel will feature free breakfast, a guest laundry facility, a pool and fitness equipment.
 
Chris Merklein is Van Horn’s director of real estate. Cobblestone Hotels, based in Neenah Wisconsin and has over 160 hotels currently open, under construction or in development.
 
The hotel is the first phase of a larger master-planned development which will include new residential and retail buildings in the area.

Tom Abruzese of Harbour Realty, LLC, owners of several properties on Waites Wharf, had filed an application with the  Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council  to demolish some current structures on the property in order to build a hotel on Waites Wharf. The application and plans are now moving on to Newport Planning and Zoning Boards.
 
Harbour Realty, LLC , plan to demolish the existing structures and construct a 150-room hotel, with a standard restaurant, banquet and wedding facilities. NewPort Architecture LLC is designing the project.

The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved plans to renovate and expand the historic Hotel Alexandra at Massachusetts Avenue and Washington Street in South Boston into a 156-room, 13-floor hotel with ground-floor and roof-deck restaurants.
 
Developers Jas Bhogal and Thomas Calus won BPDA approval in March to completely gut what’s left of the interior of the historic 1876 structure, keep the facades and then drop a new 13-story building inside them and in the space vacated when the formerly historic Ivory Beane building was torn down before it could collapse.
 
The hotel will have no parking, but will have a valet service at the Washington Street entrance.

A local hotel developer and operator are planning to build a seven-story Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Cincinnati Ohio.
 
Brandicorp LLC and Lexington Management Corp. are under contract to purchase the former Pig & Whistle property at 2680 Madison Road. Brandicorp plans to develop a seven-story, 100-room hotel on the site.
 
Brandicorp is in the early stages of the project. Phoenix Architecture is the architect for the proposed hotel project.

Albuquerque’s Hotel Blue, which was built in the 1960s and originally called Downtowner Motor Inn, will receive a $22 million renovation from Los Angeles-based ARRIVE Hotels & Restaurants. ARRIVE will operate the hotel upon completion and change the name to  ARRIVE Albuquerque, according to a release.
 
ARRIVE Hotels is in the process of gathering construction drawings and hopes to send out general contracting bids by the end of September with plans for the six-story ARRIVE Albuquerque will break ground by 2020 and be operational by 2021.
 
Renovation plans include 135 guest rooms, meeting spaces, a ground-level coffee shop and bar, a renovated pool and patio, landscaping and a food truck park.

Developer Elliot Group plans to bring a four-star hotel brand to its Park Lane development in Liverpool which includes the historic Heaps Rice Mill.
 
Elliot is submitting a trio of planning applications to the city council for hotels at three separate locations in the city centre, including an amendment to its £100m Aura scheme on the edge of the Knowledge Quarter and changes to an existing hotel project in Norfolk Street.
 
Architects at Falconer Chester Hall are working on a new scheme that would see the building being converted to apartments that would be sold. 
 
Four other new blocks would also be included in the mixed-use scheme which could include a restaurant and a new public square and now Elliot has revealed a plan to make one of the blocks a 260-bed hotel.
 
Elliot is currently concluding negotiations with an international hotelier to bring a new four star brand to the city.
