Home2 Suites Hotel Planned on Higgins

Hotel development and management company, NexGen Hotels is proposing to build a Home2 Suites by Hilton Hotel at 1700 Higgins Road in Des Moines, Iowa. The five story hotel would include 107 guestrooms and if approved construction would begin in the 2nd quarter of 2023 and be completed in late 2024.

Ritz Carlton Residences Planned for Sarasota Bay

Developer Bob Vail President of Kolter Urban is planning to build a Ritz Carlton Hotel Residences in Sarasota Bay Florida. The project will include 78 units with views of Sarasota Bay and downtown. SB Architects will design each residence which ranges from 3 to 4 bedrooms and from 3,500 to 6,000 square feet in the 20-story tower. Sophisticated interiors and curated finishing details will make residents flow through their residences. The panoramic views can be enjoyed with expansive terraces with outdoor grills in each residence, as well as access-controlled, private elevators. Resident amenities include an arrival plaza, fitness center, health, and wellness center, sports lounge, news cafe, board room, outdoor dog park, and three different pools.

New Hope Waterfront Hotel Development Planned

Landmark Developers is proposing the construction of a 44-room hotel, restaurant, pool and artist in residence quarters at the current site of the Landing, a popular waterfront restaurant and bar, and the adjacent Fred’s Breakfast Club, in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Landmark also owns the Logan Inn, the Mansion Inn and the Hotel Du Village, in the Bucks County. The Landing is located at 22 N. Main Street. Frank Cretella is founder of Landmark. Jeffrey A Fleisher is the project Architect.

Dream Hotel Planned for Downtown

Hotel developer 8MAIN LLC is planning to build a Dream Hotel in downtown Louisville Kentucky. The $100 million project would be located at 811-823 West Main St next to the Frazier Museum and across from the Louisville Slugger Museum. There will be a tax incentive for the developer which would kick a majority of property tax revenue back to the developer over a 20 year period. Construction will begin in the 2nd half of 2023.

Luxury Hotel Planned in the Gaslamp

Developer Robert Green is planning a 12-story luxury hotel located in the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, California. Developer Robert Green also built the Pendry hotel in the same area. The project, that will cost more than the $120 million calls for 244 guest rooms, a rooftop pool deck overlooking downtown with views to Coronado, nearly 15,000 square feet of meeting space and a diverse array of dining and drinking venues, including a jazz speakeasy below ground.  Ground breaking is planned for the 1st half of 2024.

Hilton Tempo Planned for Downtown

An eight story, 161-room Hilton Tempo hotel is planned on the former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel block in downtown Milwaukee Wisconsin. The hotel proposed for the corner of West Kilbourn Avenue and North Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Milwaukee would have a ground floor restaurant and a rooftop event space that includes an outdoor terrace. HKS Holdings LLC is the hotel’s developer. The new Hilton Tempo requires Historic Preservation Commission approvals because the Milwaukee Common Council approved an historic designation for that block in 2019. Kahler Slater is the project architect.

Marriott Tribute Hotel Proposed for Traverse City

Developer Jeff Schmitz of JS Capital Group is proposing to build a four-story Marriot Tribute Hotel, at 211 and 221 W. Grandview Parkway in Traverse City, Michigan which includes 99 rooms, a spa, a rooftop bar and restaurant, meeting space, a fitness center and a retail boutique. The hotel would overlook the Grand Traverse Bay. The project would also include a 1,950 square foot outdoor plaza on the north side of the building. J.S. Capitol, has begun preparing the property for development, including completing environmental remediation and excavation work. The majority of construction is expected to take place in 2023, with a targeted 2024 opening date. The project is being designed by Klatt Architects.

Waston Island Hotel Project Moves Forward

The owners of the Jungle Island waterfront theme park in Miami Florida are proposing a new themed 300 guest room hotel, attractions and retail complex be built on the property located at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail. The Watson Island project will incorporate green design elements. The hotel and accompanying 7-story parking garage with 965 spaces will include a botanical garden, with a second-story lobby, dining areas, meeting rooms, retail spaces, and rooftop pool deck. The plans call for the outdated parking garage to be demolished and the present Jungle Island ballroom and conference facilities to be modernized and integrated into the new hotel. Jungle Island will be united by a central plaza and pedestrian boulevard winding through the eco-park grounds, into the Hotel Area, and through to the Japanese Gardens.

Casino and Hotel Development Planned for Petersburg

Entertainment developer Cordish Company is proposing to build a $1.4 billion mixed use development that would include a casino and hotel in Petersburg Virginia. Proposed to be named Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia, the casino will include 670,000 square feet of gaming, hotel, dining and entertainment space; a 200 guestroom room hotel; 2,000 slots and electronic table games and 60 live-action table games including poker; sportsbook, event center, a dozen food and beverage outlets and free parking surface. Zed Smith is Chief Operating Officer for the Cordish Companies. Richard Burns is Director of Architecture & Design.

Beachside Hotel Planned for Daytona

Developers are proposing a 28-story hotel located at: 1201 Atlantic Ave in Daytona Beach Florida. The project called the Silver Beach Condo Hotel is an extended stay hotel being proposed by Eduardo Avila or Daytona Atlantic Development represented by Cobb Cole lawyer Robert Merrill. The 300-room hotel will be divided into 1, 2 and 3-bedroom units, with the smallest unit 600 square feet. There also will be a pool. The restaurant will be open to the public. The groundbreaking is scheduled for late 2023. The total project investment is estimated at: $100 million. Joe Hopkins of Performance Group is the project civil engineer.
