Developer H2H Properties is planning to build a TownePlace Suites hotel in the Cal Park area of Chico, California. The Marriott branded hotel will be four stories with a 117 space parking lot. Chico’s Architectural Review Board will hold a public hearing to discuss changes to the plans for the TownePlace Suites Hotel planned for California Park Subdivision. The public will be allowed to weigh in on the structure and landscape design. In September the Chico City Council approved the four-story Town Place Suites hotel at Bruce Road and Highway 32. The approval requires a review by the Architectural Review and Historical Preservation Board.

A real estate developer has proposed a 94-room hotel on what is now a narrow parking lot a half-block from Boston Common in Downtown Crossing in Boston Massachusetts. A limited liability company affiliated with developer and restaurant owner Paul Roiff filed an application with the Boston Planning and Development Agency last week in connection with the project. The 2,800-square-foot property is located between Fajitas & ‘Ritas and Papagayo at 17-23 West St. It would be 15 floors and up to 162 feet tall, with just over 38,000 square feet of space. No parking would be included in the project. Paul Roiff is president of Heath Properties. Grassi Design Group is the project Architect.

Developers the Prime Group Inc and Capri Interests LLC plan a $180 million renovation project that would convert an office building at: 111 W. Monroe St in downtown Chicago, Illinois to a hotel and residences. The proposed Monroe Residences & Hotel would use 610,000 square feet to create 349 units (studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units). Other renovations would include lobby upgrades, a bar and restaurant, and basement parking. A separate, 226-key hotel project would proceed simultaneously within the building’s lower floors. The project is currently being reviewed by the Chicago Department of Planning and Development.

Developer the Onix Group plans to build a $90 million, 14-story building in Orlando, Florida called the Gateway that will include a 150-room hotel, medical offices, a conference center, a restaurant, and shops. The 270,846-square-foot project will be built on vacant land at the corner of East Princeton and North Orange avenues, at the gateway into AdventHealth’s Health Village in Orlando. Construction of the building will begin in spring 2024, and the building is scheduled to open in fall 2026. The hotel will be at the top of the Gateway building, and will offer studios and one-bedroom suites, as well as a 24-hour fitness center. The suites will feature living rooms, bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens. Specialty rooms also will be available with top-of-the-line fitness equipment. Other hotel amenities will include a sky lobby with a view of downtown Orlando, an artificial turf activity lawn and an outdoor pool. The architect of the project is NORR, and the general contractor is Batson-Cook. AdventHealth will be the anchor tenant and is leasing several floors in the building.

Hotel developer MD Hospitality along with partners Bedford Lodging and Five Senses Hospitality are planning the 153 guestroom Nobleman Hilton Tapestry Hotel located at 503 Bryan Ave in Fort Worth, Texas. Construction is set to start April of 2023 with an opening date planned for late 2024. The four story $26.5 million project will include meeting spaces, a restaurant, bar and outdoor swimming pool and lounge area. The development also includes renovation of a historic fire station. The hotel is being designed by Base4 Architects. The Dallas-Fort Worth area currently has more than 170 hotel projects in the various phases of development.

Construction will start the summer of 2023 on the $350 million Lake of the Ozarks resort and amusement park in Missouri. That will include a $180 million 400 guestroom Marriott hotel, which will be built alongside an amusement park, indoor water park and conference center. The project is being planned by SkyView Partners and Tegethoff Development, along with Fred Ross, of Big Thunder Marine. The project, at Highway 54 and Jeffries Road in Osage Beach, adjacent to the Grand Glaize Bridge. Site work and infrastructure for the entire 25-acre site is scheduled to begin this summer, with construction on the hotel, amusement park and 1,000-space parking garage kicking off simultaneously. The amusement park and parking garage are scheduled to open in summer 2024. The hotel and indoor water park will finish construction by 2026. The new Marriott Hotels resort will have a 26,000-square-foot conference center, a full-service spa, restaurants, an outdoor pool, pickleball courts and a fitness center. The Marriott will be located next to the 50,000-square-foot enclosed water park that will be built by OpenAire, a designer, manufacturer and installer of custom retractable roof structures. The water park will be operated by water park management company American Resort Management. The 25-acre amusement park consists of roller coasters, thrill and family rides, and a 200-foot-tall Ferris wheel. The hotel will be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality. Jeff Tegethoff, is the principal of Tegethoff Development.

The Union Station Nashville Yards Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel in Tennessee is undergoing a guestrooms renovation to be completed in the fall of 2023. The 125 room historic hotel includes two food and beverage offerings and 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The property was built as a train station in 1900 and converted to a hotel in 1986. Southwest Value Partners owners the hotel.  Bill Simmons is the hotel’s general manager.

Developer Jumani Hotels & Resorts Inc., which owns the SureStay Plus by Best Western Lake Buena Vista at 8200 Palm Parkway in Orlando Florida, filed an application to build a 110-room Hyatt House hotel at 11901 Ravallo Resort Drive in Orlando. The 2.16-acre parcel of undeveloped land has Lake Street to the north, Palm Parkway to the west and Ravallo Resort Drive to the east and south as the roadway curves around the property. The Hyatt House is an extended stay brand which features full kitchens with dishwashers, stoves, microwave/air fryers, refrigerators and laundry facilities.
