Construction of the proposed Grand Hyatt Resort Hotel in Seaside, California has been approved to move forward. The hotel would include 330 guest rooms, a conference center with meeting rooms, restaurants, lobby bar, service kitchen, administrative offices, food and beverage, spa and fitness center, and service circulation areas. The seven story hotel would also include an outdoor swimming pool adjacent to the hotel, 195,000 sf of guestrooms, 35,000 sf of meeting space, 14,000 sf of restaurants, 14,000 sf spa and fitness space and a large exterior courtyard. The project is being developed by Seaside Peninsula Acquisition Group. Adolfo Gonzales is the project manager with the city of Seaside. EMC Planning Group is handing land development, Brian Murch with DLR Group is the project Architect. A Sundt Construction of the general contractor.

Developers are proposing to build a Home2 Suites Hilton branded hotel located at 4011 N Carson Street in Carson City, Nevada. The property is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of North Carson Street and Silver Oak Drive. The developer plans to construct the 91 guest room hotel which is an allowed use in the RC zoning district. The proposed building height is approximately 54 feet tall. The Home 2 Suites facility would consist of approximately 60,000 square feet and be four stories. Westex Consulting Engineers is designing the project.

A proposed Hilton Garden Inn in Estero, Florida has received approval from Village of Estero planning commission. The 115 guest room hotel to be built at 8009 Sweetwater Ranch Blvd. The project is being developed by Equity Inc. subsidiary, Coconut Estero Investment Partners LLC. The 70,800-square-foot-hotel will be located at the southwest corner of Via Villagio and Sweetwater Ranch Boulevard adjacent to the Estero Fire Station. Rick Brylanski, of Hole Montes is the project Civil Engineer. Shawn Boysko with Equity Construction is the construction manager. Jon Rolwing, is VP of development with Equity Inc. Guillermo Pedroza of David L. Wallace is the project Architect. William E Prysi, is the Landscape Architect. Ned Dewhirst with Oakbrook Properties, Inc is co-developer. The Design Group is the project design engineer.

Developer Shamin Hotels is planned to build two hotels at the Springline project, District 60, the mixed-use development that’s underway on the site of the old Spring Rock Green shopping center in Chesterfield, Virginia. Shamin will invest $75 million in its Springline project, which include a Hilton hotel with conference facility, and a smaller, limited-service hotel with about 100 rooms. Neil Amin, is Shamin Hotels CEO. The proposal is awaiting approval from the city of Chesterfield.

Developers Merritt Development Group and Peachtree Group are planning a Residence Inn by Marriott at 100 N. Main Ave in Downtown San Antonio, Texas. The project would include 171 guest rooms and be 10 stories tall. The 124,000-square-foot property would also see a rooftop pool and terrace, a fitness center, meeting rooms and a panaderia. Construction is expected to cost $58 million. A preliminary plan review for the building is currently underway by the city of San Antonio’s Development Services. BGKT Architects is designing the hotel.

Developer KT Urban is planning to build a boutique hotel across from the Santana Row shopping mall in San Jose, California. The seven story, 176-room Olin Hotel located at 425 S Winchester Ave was delayed due to the Covid pandemic but is now moving forward and going through the city’s planning process. Mark Tersini is vice president of KT Urban. Lowney Architecture is design the project.

Construction of a new dual branded Marriott Hotel in Beavercreek, Ohio that was delayed due to the COVID pandemic is now preparing to break ground. The builder and designer of the 90,000-square-foot, 160-room hotel is HiFive Development Services. The hotel at 2727 Fairfield Commons Lot 1C in Beavercreek will include a Fairfield Inn & Suites and Towneplace Suites. HiFive expects the hotel to be completed in Q4 2025. Scarlet & Gray Hospitality will own and operate the hotel.

Developer Revesco Properties led by CEO Rhys Duggan is planning a hotel and mixed use development for the 2nd phase of Hurley Place in the River North Art District in Denver, Colorado. The 62-acre River Mile project in downtown Denver located at 3715 Chestnut Place on approximately three acres of land in will include a hotel, condos and apartments at the site. Hurley Place developer Menalto Development whose CEO is Bernard Hurley is also partner project. The new hotel will have 172 keys, there will be 126 condo units and 304 multifamily rental units, 33,000 square feet of retail, in addition to public outdoor space. Site development plans will be approved 18 months. John Buck Company is partner on development of the 1st phase Hurley Place which involves one office building and one multifamily building. Semple Brown Design is the current architect on the project and Swinerton has been doing pre-construction work on the site. Both development phases have an estimated cost of $700 million.

A new resort is being planned for downtown Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Margaritaville branded resort would be located at the intersection of 17th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard. The resort will feature three major buildings, including a main hotel, a 210-foot accommodations tower for parking and check-in, and a 50-foot amenity center with a pool deck and bar/restaurant. The hotel will include ballrooms, conference rooms and a Margaritaville gift shop. On the second floor there will be space for additional developments, to include restaurants, cafes, bakeries, bars, retail shops and other stores. The project is being proposed by Development Resource Group.

Hotel management and development companies Peachtree Group and Ascent Hospitality are planning a $50 million renovation project that will convert a historic office building in downtown Birmingham, Alabama to a dual branded AC & Element Hotel. The hotel will be in the historic Brown Marx Tower, built in 1906, at the intersection of 20th Street North and First Avenue North. Ascent plans the 338 guest room AC & Element Hotel, both of which are Marriott brands. The project’s AC Hotel is geared toward business travelers and will have 190 rooms. The Element Hotel will feature 148 extended-stay style rooms with kitchens. The project will be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
