The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Nevada will completely close in February 2020 for a major renovation and conversion project. The property will re-open in late 2020 as the Virgin Hotel & Casino. The total cost of the project will exceed $200 million.
 
The resort ownership group is J.C. Hospitality along with AEG Presents and Virgin Hotel Group. Rockwell Group is the project designer.
 
The property is located at: 455 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas Nevada and contains 1,271 guestrooms.

Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants is expanding in the Caribbean. The hotel brand is planning to open a new boutique resort on Roatan off the Caribbean coast of Honduras. The new property will open in 2021.
 
The property, owned and developed by Vista Capital, will be the first internationally-branded hotel in Roatan, with 126 guest rooms including 43 suites and amenities like a rooftop sky bar with a glass-fronted pool; a large outdoor pool, a chef-driven restaurant; lounges and beach bars and more than 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, according to the company.

A hotel proposed at the Lincoln Nebraska Innovation Campus will be a new brand for Lincoln. The Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously in favor of a $47 million plan to bring a hotel and office building to the research park on the former state fairgrounds.
The six-story, 153-room hotel would be a Marriott Tribute property, which is an independent boutique hotel. Tetrad Property Group, the company developing the project, plan a University of Nebraska-branded hotel.
 
Plans are to build the $31 million hotel first. Construction would likely start early next year, with a target opening date of June 2021. In addition to the rooms, the hotel would have a full-service restaurant, coffee shop, gym and other amenities.
 
The proposed hotel could also serve as a learning space for some University of Nebraska-Lincoln students, as plans filed with the city call for 2,600 square feet on the first floor to include education space, a student lounge, conference room and faculty offices for the Hospitality, Tourism and Restaurant Management program. The proposed office building would be three stories and have 80,000 square feet of space. Its construction timeline is not set. It would cost nearly $16 million.

On Aug. 6 the Harbor Area Planning Commission unanimously approved a request from 544 Pacific LLC to build a hotel with 80 guest rooms on the corner of South Pacific Avenue and 6th Street, adjacent to the Warner Grand Theatre.
 
The hotel is designed to have a restaurant on the ground floor and a rooftop bar. It will be seven stories tall and will have one level of underground parking. It will have a neon sign that says San Pedro.

CAI Investments has secured a $86.5 million construction loan to develop a full service hotel in Tempe, Arizona. CAI will build a 290-room Westin hotel at a site within walking distance of Arizona State University. The 18-story building will include a rooftop pool, a full service restaurant and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Inn on Fifth & Club Level Suites located at 699 Fifth Ave South in downtown Naples Florida is closing for a major renovation is beginning on Sept. 3, with completion in October. Phil McCabe is the owner of the hotel.
 
The $5 million renovation will include all 119 guest rooms and a complete redo of the hotel’s rooftop pool deck and courtyard. The hotel’s 32 Club Level Suites, located directly across the avenue, will remain open.

Libanon Corporation developers, who are looking to build a $20 million four-star luxury hotel along Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman
 
The initial application called for permission to create a 10-storey, 129-bedroom boutique hotel on the north side of the Seven Mile Beach corridor, along West Bay Road.
 
The development would include solar panels, turtle friendly lighting, breezeways and a host of other environmentally friendly designs; as well as a several other amenities such as a restaurant/bar, two pools, a gym and a generator.

Hilton plans to build a 38-story, 800-room high end hotel on Pan Am Plaza in Downtown Indianapolis. The Signia Hilton hotel, a new brand created by Hilton, would stand out in the skyline as the cities tallest building.
 
The hotel would take about two years to build and would likely open in 2023 at Illinois and Georgia streets. It would be one of three that Hilton announced as part of its new Signia brand, designed for events and meetings. The other two are set for Atlanta and Orlando.
 
The hotel is expected to have 80,000 square feet of meeting space, a roof deck, chef-driven restaurant and state-of-the-art technology throughout.

A $25 million Home2 Suites by Hilton is planned for the San Bernardino, CA entertainment corridor, and while the approval process still is in its infancy, Greens Group, the Irvine-based developer plans to break ground in June 2020 to be completed December 2021 according to Atman Kadakia the company CEO.
 
The 120-room hotel is planned for a vacant lot near the California Highway Patrol office on East Brier Drive in the Hospitality Lane commercial corridor.
 
The project is in the design and entitlement phases and Greens Group expects to formally submit plans to the city’s Development Review Committee within the next month. From there, the project would go to the Planning Commission and the City Council for approval.
 
The planned Home2 Suites would offer travelers an affordable extended-stay alternative to some of the upscale hotels in the area.

Continental/Ferguson Lansing, LLC and Concord Hospitality Enterprises of Raleigh, N.C., plan a dual-branded hotel – a Hyatt House and AC Hotel by Marriott that will be located at the new Red Cedar Development project.
 
The groundbreaking is planned for September 2019 with infrastructure work done first and the vertical construction following immediately. Located along the Michigan Avenue corridor next to the campus of Michigan State University, each hotel will stand six stories high. Together, the new hotels will include integration of smart devices and high-tech building management systems and several amenities such as 285 modern guest rooms, a 4,300 square foot ballroom with event and meeting spaces, a rooftop bar and restaurant with a 6th floor dining terrace, a ground-level pool with views of Michigan Ave and a 1,700 square foot enhanced 24- hour fitness center. There will also be an eating establishment on the ground floor.
 
Joel Ferguson and Frank Kass are the principals of Continental Ferguson. Continental Ferguson is investing over $250 million in the project. Mark Laport is President and CEO of Concord Hospitality. Construction on the hotels will begin in the summer of 2020 and are anticipated to open during the first quarter of 2022.
