A new hotel is planned that will replace the Louise Douglas Apartments on Elliston Place within the Rock Block, in Nashville Tennessee. The project is planned for a fall start and is being designed by Southeast Venture Architects. The hotel will be branded as a Holiday Inn Express offering 168 rooms on eight floors located across West End Avenue from Vanderbilt University. The developer Elliston Hospitality LLC, which is affiliated with hotel development company JV Hospitality, owns the property, having acquired it for $6.5 million in July 2019. The Ambassador Hotel in downtown Jacksonville Florida will be renovated and converted to La Quinta Inn & Suites. Developer Augustine Development Group and Axis Hotels plan to convert the historic building at 420 N Julia Street into a 127 guestroom La Quinta Inn & Suites. The total project cost will be $15 million. Interior demolition has begun and construction will begin September 2020 and be complete by March 2022. Dunn Hospitality Group is planning to build a $20 million, 145-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel near Interstate 69 and 116th Street in Fishers Indiana by the end of 2021. Dunn built the duel branded Hyatt Place/Hyatt House in Fishers District and is planning the new hotel in an adjacent mixed-use project called The Stations. Plans call for The Stations to be developed just east of the Fishers District and west of the Kroger at the corner of 116th Street and Cumberland Road. Dunn Hospitality recently has closed on the purchase of the land from Thompson Thrift. Infrastructure and curbs have already been installed for the hotel site and workers are starting paving to have the final site work completed by mid-June. The Courtyard will feature meeting space, fitness facilities, an indoor pool, room service and a bistro bar offering sit-down meals throughout the day. Developers Texarkana Renewal Properties LLC led by CEO David Peavy plan to rehabilitate the former Texarkana National Bank building downtown Texarkana Texas, a historic structure that has been vacant for more than 15 years. The building will be completely renovated and converted to a mixed used tower that will include luxury apartments, condominiums and an extended stay hotel.  Made of red brick with classical-style ornamentation, the eight-story Texarkana National Bank was built between 1914 and 1920 at West Broad Street and North State Line Avenue. Developers Gopal Govan and Neal Patel plan to demolish an Econo Lodge on Union Avenue and I-69 and Memphis Tennessee and build a 180 guestroom dual branded TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn. The developers plan to break ground on the project in the 2 nd quarter of 2021 and complete the project in late 2022. Portman Holdings plans to build a mixed use tower that will included a luxury hotel and apartments just across the street from the Shops Buckhead. The site is located at the corner of Peachtree Road and Pharr Road in Atlanta Georgia. The project is in a planning phase and had not secured financing to date. Portman anticipates breaking group in the first half of 2022. Developer Dezer Development whose president is Gil Dezer has demolished the Travel Lodge Monaco Hotel located at 17501 Collins Ave Sunny Isles Beach Florida and plans to build a boutique hotel in its place called the Monaco Hotel. The original hotel was built in 1952. The new hotel is in the planning phase which will take 12 months and break ground in the middle or 2021.  The new hotel will be three stories and include 113 guestrooms, a restaurant, game room and underground parking.  Sieger Suarez Architects LLC is designing the project. The first phase of the $65 million Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel renovation project in Muai Hawaii is underway, with a redesign of the 180-room Kauaʻi Wing, additional floor parking, a renovation to the courtyard including additional native Hawaiian plants, and the addition of a new beachfront restaurant. Originally build in 1964 the hotel offers 432 guestrooms and a four acre courtyard. The three phase project will be completed in the 4 th quarter 2020 and will include the renovation of the Lanai, Mau and Molokai wings and restaurants. Mike White is the hotel general manager. Swinerton is serving as the construction manager on the project.
