The North Castle Town Board will take up an application to build a hotel and townhomes in a project known as Eagle Ridge on a portion of the property formerly owned by IBM in Armonk, New York. Frank Madonna, of Maddd Madonna Armonk LLC plans to develop an approximately 32-acre parcel known as Lot A-4 that abuts North Castle Drive, Route 22 and a town recreation area. The proposal is to build a 115 room hotel with 135 seat restaurant, 45 seat bar and meeting space along with 72 townhomes restricted to 55 and older.

Hotel developer Sina Hospitality is building a SpringHill Suites hotel located at 12301 Redwater Creek Road in Chester Virginia.   The seven-story, 122-room hotel is rising on the northwest side of the Route 10/West Hundred Road interchange. The 5-acre site is behind the Cracker Barrel restaurant and next door to the Fairfield Inn Richmond Chester. Sina’s hotel is one of three that it’s actively working on, having just opened a Fairfield Inn last month in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s opening another Fairfield Inn in Louisville in June, and it’s also developing a Home2 Suites in St. Louis, Missouri, among other properties on the drawing board. Ravi Patel in CEO of the company. Harlan Construction is the general contractor, and Nitin Kulkarni with Glen Allen-based Design Enclave Consultants is the architect. Applegate Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, and The Site Design Co. is the civil engineer. Other firms involved include MEP Green Design & Build. The $20 million project was expanded with an additional floor and four more rooms than initially planned. Targeted for completion in spring 2022, the hotel will include a 5,000-square-foot meeting space planned on its lower level and another 1,100-square-foot event space on the floor above that.

A proposed condo-hotel project has received final approval from the Ocean City New Jersey Planning Board. The Soleil Resort would include 111 condo hotel units in a six story building overlooking the boardwalk at 11th Street and Ocean Ave next to the Flanders Hotel. The project is being developed by Select Properties Inc.

A luxury hotel is proposed for downtown Santa Cruz, California. The six-story building has been proposed for 324 Front St. The developers include SCFS Venture, Eagle Point Hotel Partners and Owen Lawlor of Lawlor Land Use. The hotel project includes: 228 rooms, retail and cafe space on Front Street, meeting rooms and a ballroom, a restaurant and bar that opens to the San Lorenzo Riverwalk, a gym, spa and rooftop pool. The developer would be required to build a public walkway that connects Front Street and the Riverwalk on another city lot just north of the proposed hotel. The project is being designed by BCV Architecture & Interiors.

The Abilene, Texas city council approved plans for the development of a design / build downtown convention center hotel. The agreement was signed with DPR Construction who will proceed with the development of the design / build project which is to begin in June of this year. The Doubletree Hotel project consists of the city facilities which include public conference rooms and meeting space of approximately 38,700 sq. ft., including a ballroom of approximately 12,000 square feet, ancillary facilities and infrastructure in support of the conference rooms and meeting spaces, and a surface parking facility with at least 200 parking spaces. In addition to the City Facilities, the hotel will be a full-service hotel. It will host 206 rooms, a second-story pool with a patio bar, and a three-meal restaurant.

A 101 guestroom Hampton Inn Hotel on Lakeshore Drive in Manistee County Michigan has been approved. The hotel is located across the street from Lake Michigan and will replace the Lakeshore Motel at 101 Lakeshore Drive across from First Street Beach. The hotel will include a top floor restaurant and bar, balcony and conference room. The hotel is being developed by Tom Welling, VP of Suburban Inns which owns the Lakeshore Motel.

Developer Pack Brothers Hospitality is planned to build the 37 North Resort on Fort Monroe in Hampton Virginia. The group is planning to build and open the resort by Spring 2025. The proposed resort will include a 500-seat restaurant, a 250-person conference center, a 90-room boutique hotel and 300-slip remodeled marina. The Old Point Comfort Marina will also undergo renovations that guests will enjoy, including new floating docks with a 1,600-foot concrete super dock to replace the timber wave screen that hasn’t been working and an improved ships store. Randy and Brian Pack are principals of Pack Brothers Hospitality.

Developer H Group International managed by Horeshh Asah is planning to develop condo/hotel located at 401 N.E. Second Street in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Selo Hotel Condo would total 512,190 square feet, with 150 condos, 200 hotel rooms, 11,835 square feet of retail and restaurants, and 264 parking spaces. The lobby and pool deck would be on the seventh floor. The hotel rooms, which would be 300 square feet each, would be on floors eight through 17. The condos, which would range from 494 to 822 square feet, would be on floors 18 to 32. There would be a 2,785-square-foot bar with outdoor seating on the roof. The Selo Hotel Condo is being designed by SD Collaborative.

Plans for Gateway Village, a new riverfront resort in Bragg Creek in Calgary Alberta Canada that will occupy over 12 acres of land, have been approved. The project will be led by local developer Dick Koetsier of Gateway Developments, and it’s estimated that it will cost $100 million to build. Located less than 40 minutes west of downtown Calgary, Gateway Village will be a mix of commercial opportunities, hotel suites, and residential units. According to the proposal, there will be a 120 boutique hotel suites in the Wakesiah Lodge, which will also feature a conference center, a restaurant, health and wellness and spa facilities, and recreation activities. The architectural design of the lodge will encompass Rocky Mountain and rustic Bragg Creek styles, and guests can expect stunning mountain views from their hotel rooms and out on the hotel’s terraced patio. The project team includes: Infrastructure Development Group, Planning Plus, MTA Architecture & Interior Design Inc, Scope Project Inc, Jubiee Engineering Consultants Ltd, Bunt & Associates & Jana Sinclair.
