The Mayflower Mountain Resort a four star ski resort hotel has broken ground in Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Once open, the 642,000-square-foot conference hotel will include a block of 100 rooms that will be available at a preferred rate for active duty and retired service members. In addition, there will be a tax for regular guests that will go towards Hill Air Force Base’s MWR account. The conference hotel will be branded and has been designed to include 387 hotel rooms and suites, 55 private residences, and more than 60,000 square feet of pre-conference, banquet space and conference services. Amenities include restaurants, a coffee shop and deli, a fitness center, a pool, ski lockers, and underground parking. The hotel site is located within Deer Valley Resort planned expansion to include seven new ski lifts located east of and next to Park City. In addition, estate lots and townhomes within two communities, totaling approximately 300 residences, are being platted. Ski lifts and snowmaking are engineered, and grading and clearing will begin in the fall of 2021. Jacobsen Construction, the general contractor, expects to complete construction of the MWR conference hotel in 30 months, with the opening slated for December 2023. The hotel construction is expected to cost about $390 million. Paul Morris is executive director of MIDA (Military Installation and Development Authority).

Developer Greens Group Inc. is planning to build a 3-story, 40-foot high dual branded hotel with 128 guestrooms, a pool and outdoor amenity totaling, 65,014 square feet. The hotel will be branded as a Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites located at 41820 Big Bear Blvd in Big Bear Lake California. The project is currently going through the approval process.

The Osage Nation broke ground on new casinos locations in Bartlesville and Pawhuska Oklahoma. First announced in June 2020, the projects will relocate and expand the tribe’s existing casinos in Pawhuska and outside Bartlesville in Osage County. Completion of the facilities has been delayed throughout the planning process, but both are expected to open in fall of 2022. Both new locations will feature hotels, pools, spas, fitness areas and meeting space, which are not present in the current Bartlesville and Pawhuska locations. The new Bartlesville facility will be on a 125-acre property at 1803 US Highway 60, less than two miles west of downtown. It will total 57,400 square feet and have 500 slot machines, up from the current location’s 42,000 square feet and 440 slot machines. It will also have 101 hotel rooms and 10,560 square feet of meeting space. The Pawhuska location will be on a 60-acre plot at 1421 John Dahl Ave., across Oklahoma 60 from the current location. Developer Kairoi Residential plans to re-develop the Ramada hotel at 1150 E Colfax Ave in Denver Colorado. The hotel will be demolished to build a seven story residential structure with 334 units.  The project would have 6,000 square feet of retail space along Colfax and 342 parking spaces. Tyler Sibley is vice president of development for Kairoi. The project is in the planning stage and the hotel is still in operation.

The Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission is reviewing plans for a new six-story hotel near the corner of Cherry Street and Hitt Street in downtown Columbia, Missouri. The hotel would sit at 1005 Cherry Street just north of the Hitt Street Garage. Crockett Engineering presented the re-plat on behalf of the developer Cherry Street Hotel LLC. The six-story hotel will have around 150 to 200 rooms. In January of 2020, the commission voted 6-1 to approve the potential new hotel called the Cherry Street Hotel.

A 100-room TownePlace Suites hotel being proposed for a 1.5-acre tract at 39 Scenic Gulf Drive near U.S. Highway 98 in Destin, Florida. Developer Banyan Investment Group, is finalizing plans for the five-story, 100-room design. Michael Langston of Baskerville-Donovan Inc., is the engineering firm working with Banyan Investment Group on the project. Banyan Investment Group has owned the Scenic Gulf Drive property, currently the site of a 65-room Quality Inn & Suites hotel, for at least 25 years.

A new $43.5 million building, nine stories tall, will bring more retail, apartments, hotel and parking to Omaha’s Nebraska’s trendy Blackstone District. Developers’ planned mixed-use building, which replaces a surface parking lot and a few smaller buildings, would be a major addition to the midtown neighborhood. Proposed by developers Tom McLeay, Matt Dwyer and Jay Lund, the complex would face Farnam Street between 37th and 38th Streets. According to city documents, construction is tentatively scheduled to begin this October and be completed in September 2023. Plans for the complex, which the developers haven’t yet named, include about 20,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor.
