An Australian developer plans a $500-million tower in downtown Los Angeles that would include both condominiums and a hotel. Crown Group is planning to develop property it owns at Hill and 11th streets in downtown Los Angeles to include a trendy hotel and condos in a newly designed 43-story building. Executives are working to secure city permission to build the tower and hope to start construction by the end of next year to be completed in 2025. The building is being designed by Koichi Takada Architects. The operator of the 160-room hotel hasn’t been selected. A downtown 4 story office building located at 333 Union Street in Nashville Tennessee that was built in 1954 has plans to be converted into a hotel. The existing four-story building is being proposed for a seven-story addition with approximately 40,000 square feet by the developer, Manek Management. The design of the building is being completed by Southeast Venture whom has submitted documents to the Metro Development and Housing Agency Design Review Committee. Manek Holdings LLC paid $3.85 million for the property in June 2017. Excavation has begun at 150 West 48 th Street in Midtown Manhattan site in New York. The 974 guestroom, 330 foot tall, 34 story hotel tower is designed by Gene Kaufman Architects and is being developed by Sam Chang of McSam Hotel Group. McSam purchased the lot for $140 million in 2019 and secured a $250 million construction loan to build the project. The 150 West 48th Street project is steps from the 47-50 Streets Rockefeller Center subway station. Two hotels, two apartment complexes and an entertainment district are planned for the Oro Valley Village Center in Tucson Arizona. The center was acquired by Town West Realty who purchased the retail complex last year in a distressed sale. The center will be mostly renovated rather than redeveloped completely. The project will also include a beer garden, miniature golf coarse, splash pads, sand beach, playground and bike and pedestrian paths. Posh Hospitality plans to start construction in the 4 th quarter of this year that will convert the Barrett Building in downtown Joliet Illinois into a SpringHill Suites Hotel. Dan Scott is general manager of the development company recently received a $5 million incentive package from the city to start the project. The company plans to add two stories to the Barrett’s Hardware building and convert it into an 82-room all-suites hotel with restaurant and bar, a project estimated to cost $18.7 million. Construction continues of a 124 room boutique hotel in Fort Wayne Indiana at Main and Harrison Streets. The hotel is being developed by Vera Bradely of Barbara Bradely Baekgaard and managed by Provenance Hotels whose president is Bashar Wali. The $27.7 million 5-story hotel hotel will have a marquee ground-floor food and beverage operation, rooftop bar, meeting space and leasable ground-floor retail space.  The Hagerman Group is the project’s construction manager. Cory Miller of Elevatus Architecture designed the project. Dutch East Interiors is designing the interiors. The Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale Florida is being redeveloped by Tavistock Development Company headed by President Jim Zboril. The 22.7-acre property along the Intracoastal Waterway at 2300 and 2301 S.E. 17th Street is one of Broward County’s most prominent hotel and conference centers . The Fredericksburg City Council has approved rezoning for new hotel suites on Fall Hill Avenue in Fredericksburg Virginia. PrimeCore, LLC is planning the project which will include the construction of a new 105-room SpringHill Suites hotel as well as a fast-food restaurant. The hotel will include an outdoor pool in the back of the building as well as for the construction of a fast-food restaurant with a drive-thru. An AC Hotel by Marriott is planned to be built in the city of Alpharetta Georgia. The city Design Review Board approved site plans April 17 for the hotel, that will have 140 rooms, in the Northwinds Summit node of Alpharetta. The hotel, located near Haynes Bridge Road and Summit Place, will span almost 79,000 square feet and will be six stories tall. An empty office building near Cathedral Square in downtown Milwaukee Wisconsin would be renovated and converted to a boutique hotel proposed by owner Van Buren Management led by CEO, Joel Lee and designed by architecture firm Rinka. Matt Rinka is managing partner at Rinka. The building is located at 790 N. Jackson Street. Planning is in the early stages and details such as room count are still being determined.
