A mixed-use development underway in Clark County Ohio will also include new hotel that will be constructed on the property. The Champions Park project, a development of 14 acres of land near the entrance of the Clark County Fairgrounds in Springfield, Ohio will now include a 114-key SpringHill Suites hotel. The SpringHill Suites will be operated by Champions Innkeepers LLC — a joint venture between Har Bhatnagar and Dillin LLC. The joint venture will develop both the hotel and broader project, which will also include a retail and restaurant component. Plans also call for a new entrance and landscaping to the fairgrounds, a new fair office and retention pond in the area near Interstate 70 and Ohio 41. The hotel will begin construction later this year.

Demolition of an old First National Bank building in downtown Gainesville Florida has begun in preparation of the new construction of a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. Capstone Property Group led by president Jonathan Collins is developing the project which is located at 111 Green Street. The $50 million, 130 guestroom hotel will include, convention space, apartments, outdoor plaza and dining areas. Construction of the development could start this summer and be finished in late 2022 or early 2023.

Gun Lake Casino in Wayland Michigan plans a $300 million expansion project of its property near Wayland into a hotel resort. The expansion is expected to include a 250-key, four-diamond hotel with suites, rooms, a restaurant and a full-service spa. The casino also plans to create its own version of a year-round island oasis with a pool enclosed in a glass dome, hot tub, private cabanas and a nightlife entertainment space with live music, DJs and dancing. Gun Lake Casino President and Chief Operating Officer is Sal Semola. Gun Lake Casino is in the midst of a $100 million expansion, which will add two restaurants and space for an additional 450 slot machines, 12 new table games and a larger nonsmoking area. The Gun Lake Tribe expects to begin the expansion as soon as its current construction project wraps up, which is expected late this summer. JCJ Architecture is designing the project.

Hotel developer Midas Hospitality plans to begin construction of a 170 room Residence Inn in Clayton Missouri business district. The hotel designed by Base 4 Architects & Engineers is located at 8125 Forsyth Blvd at a cost of $47 million. The extended stay hotel will be complete with fully equipped kitchens, with fitness center and 3,300 square foot meeting space with outdoor terrace and bar and laundry facilities. Guestrooms will receive a complimentary breakfast, as well as access to evening social events. The property will be managed by Midas Hospitality and built by Midas Construction.

Developer Drew Company is set to begin construction April 19th on the 975 guestroom Hilton Signia hotel adjacent to Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta Georgia. The $500 million hotel project on the Georgia World Congress Center Authority campus is expected to be completed by the fall of 2023. The hotel is being designed by Gensler. Theonie Alicandro is COO of Drew Company.
